Did you order the bass from Carvin with their soapbar pickups in it? If so how much extra was it?
Anyone have a Carvin 4 string with the 2+2 squarish looking headstock? Post pic please?
There is an LB70 for sale on ebay right now with the traditional headstock.
Alright, what is going on with the bass builder on the Carvin site?
I have been trying to figure out what I want and have been doing several different configurations on the bass builder. I noticed today that it automatically charges me $80 for active electronics even on models that are supposed to come with active electronics! For example the B40A kit, which costs $499 ($60 more than the passive B40 kit) has an additional $80 for active electronics. What's up with that? It's already built into the price of the kit, why are they charging me for it again? Same thing happened with an Icon bass. The Icon is already an active bass so the active electronics should be built into the price. But when I do the bass builder it adds $80 for active electronics!
Here is a copy of the bass builder for the B40A kit just to show you I'm not crazy!

That bass has been on Ebay for a few weeks now. It's a nice looking bass but the seller can't get anyone to bid up to his reserve. The thing that caught my eye about that bass is that there is no battery compartment even though its an active bass!
My new Carvin SB5000 finally showed up, and she's a beauty. More pictures HERE in my NBD post in the SB5000 owner's thread.
