Thanks! The pickup and truss rod covers were add-on's from the accessories section of the catalog. One of the first instrument's I purchased when I started playing "back in the day" was a Fender Telecaster copy with the pick-up and bridge covers. This bass has cured my G.A.S.!;)

I was wondering the same thing. So he actually screwed the cover right into the body? No special prep to keep the finish from cracking?--sorry, I didn't take shop in high school and I'm clueless. That bass looks so cool, I'm surprised Carvin doesn't have pickup covers/hand rest as an option for the B40/50s.

When I do it, I'll use masking tape on the body, draw where the holes need to be on the tape, then drill through the tape... It works for chrome, so it should work here... :)

EDIT:: you'll want to make the part of the hole that goes through the finish a little larger than the hole where the screws will grab. That way the screws won't tug at the finish while you're tightening down the cover... You want them to secure to the wood, not the finish, if that makes sense....

OK, here she is. I wanted to clean it up before I posted.
It plays REALLY well, not a buzzing fret to be found. BUT the jack and/or the battery compartment are shorting/crackling.
All in all a good buy! I am enjoying playing it and all of the sonic combinations.

The "shorting/crackling" is probably coming from the battery compartment. I put Duracells in mine and had that problem. They told me at Carvin that all 9 volt batteries don't fit the same and some lose their connection. Stick with Rayovac. That's what they put in at the factory and what was recommended to me. Or shim the battery with electrical tape. I know, sounds crazy.

Yes, it was very simple. I placed the cover in position and marked where the screws would go through the holes. I used a ruler to make sure that it was even on both sides and drilled with a bit that was slightly smaller than the screws that were included. I was also careful to make sure that the holes were deep enough so as to keep from cracking the finish. Made sure I didn't overtighten the screws. I think it came out pretty good. A friend immediately tried to buy it from me when he saw the results! (It helped that I had shop class in high school also).

Does anyone know if the neck on the BB76 is radiused like the one on the BB75? I would LOVE a 6 string version of my BB76 but mostly because of the neck. I don't want a neck like the one on my XB76, which I felt was too thick.
