I think Im crowning the FX10 as my favorite DOD pedal. I really want to try the reissue Bifet 410 as its not the same as the FX10.

I agree, the fx10 is just plain awesome. For those that have and use one, they get it. Mine is on at all times and it is not going anywhere. It's become a staple for my board and most likely will be for a very long time. I've gotten so used to it that I notice when its not on. It makes quite a difference.
So DOD family, I just got a Carcosa a couple days ago. I took it to practice last night. This is one killer fuzz pedal!!! My initial impressions were "wow, this thing has a ton of fuzz and drive sounds in it!!!" And it does. I can get a convincing dizzy tone type fuzz to maybe a super fuzz to a sputtery synthy fuzz to a gated fuzz to an almost muff'ish fuzz to a very hot and driven tubes drive. Its a very cool fuzz. The low end is thick and full and holds together beautifully in the mix. It gets loud so watch out. I had it at practice last night and I am still going to need some time to dial it in. But overall, it's a keeper for me. It covers so much ground. I really like the fact that it get gated the more you turn the After knob. And let me tell you too, the Hi-Cut knob is so sweet! Its not too muffled at all when you go CCW and when you open it up and go CW, it can get really trebly and cutting. Almost harsh but in a good way. It plays really well with the rest of the pedal and it's controls.
Here is an excerpt from the DOD info page on the pedals controls. It explains the Before and After knobs to perfection and is HIGHLY accurate:
"Once you select the mode, the Carcosa is your oyster. The Before and After knobs work in tandem to coax all kinds of fuzz sounds from the Carcosa, while still staying true to its mode. The Before and After controls work as bias knobs which delivers a wide-reaching palette of tones in either mode. Both knobs are extremely interactive, with a near-infinite number of sweet spots throughout. When the After control is turned up higher than the Before knob, interesting textures leap out of the pedal and into your inspirational bank."
This is most def one of if not the deepest fuzz box I've ever played. It's going to take me some time to get it worked out to the settings I want it on. I almost wish it had a second preset foot switch. I could totally use this pedal for two, maybe three, types of dirt tones. @DigiTechRep and DOD have done it again!!! Kudos to those guys.

Dang it, I don't need any more DOD! But I am on the look out for more guitar fuzz. Would the Carcosa or the Boneshaker doom better on guitar?
I believe one of the bigger online retailers has a coupon code for the Carcosa this week, too. I'll check and edit this post ASAP.
In other news, finally tried my Gunslinger on guitar. This thing is pretty good for bass, but man it slays on guitar! Instantly one of my favorite drive tones.

Thanks for sharing the code man. I'm good now. I got a decent deal on mine as well. Honestly I think the carcosa would be a better doom machine. But I've never played the shaker. They both seem well suited in versatility. But the carcosa is a fuzz. The shaker a dist. So there's that....
True, but for whatever reason, I seem to like heavy distortion over fuzz for doom. Still, might just try a Carcosa since I can get one cheaper new than a used Boneshaker. And both of those are cheaper than my other, more boutique options for fuzz/distortion I'm considering.
Bought Octoplus fx35. Nice analog octaver. Fairly good tracking and unique toneshaping for octave down signal.
Got a bunch of new pedals recently, but I plugged in the fx10 for the first time a few days ago. This thing is awesome. I figured it'd be more a matter of novelty/preference, but this is all utility and function in the best possible way. I tried a couple placements, but I think I'll stick with using it like the vol/tone control on a bass, but for my pedalboard. I love how it doesn't get shrill or overly bright as you turn the knob cw. It also doesn't lose much lows like many applications of the tilting eq. It also justifies adjusting the eq on my preamp to maximize overall tone.(Which I try to avoid unless something will be a permanent fixture in my setup.) I'm torn on the idea of having it rehoused. My main hangup is that I'd be defacing something that's lasted this long in such great condition with the orig box/candy. Oh well, I'll happily take that dilemma.

The Rubberneck looks super cool too, but I'll have to check it out or hear some demos first. I fell in love hard with my Carbon Copy, I'd hate to take it off the board less than a year after getting it.
