nice 5ers guys! Spent too much $$ on my 4-string Gibby Tbird but my next big purchase will be either a Stingray 5 or a Sterling Stingray 5. Owned a SUB5 many years back, loved it but stupidly sold it. Great bass. Personally I think EB 5 strings are the best production 5 string made.

Does the Sterling (import) feel/sound much different?

Here's my '98 Sterling. The color isn't coming through from the camera right, it's much more of a greenish-teal color than the blue in the picture. I'll try to get some pictures taken in daylight with my SLR vs a cheap point and shoot tomorrow.

30th anniversary lined fretless
Got the sunburst new in 2003 I think although not 100%sure.

Do you till get numbers when you join?

I love my 30th. The mahogany body just adds so much to the sustain and depth. Bit heavy though when you have to play for a while

I've seen a few on ebay for pretty reasonable money. Keep your eyes open and you might get lucky

I have seen a Stingray, Sterling, Big Al, and I'm even a member of the Bongo club but I had not seen a EBMM Club. I did some digging and I found one here. This was part two but there were no post since late 2009 and that was a guy asking for a number.

I want to start a new club where we EBMM owners can display and discuss our prized Music Man basses. It's time for the EBMM owners to unite! So what do you guys think?

I propose that instead of using a number system, you just post that you are a member or a member in good standing.

Your Big Al is one of the best I've seen. I'm a Bongo man, but I would NOT mind one of these in the stable.

I'll get pics of my SR5 at some point, but I wanted to share my experiences maintaining my maple on maple neck recently. I never felt the need to clean or maintain my neck at all until a week or so ago when I was rubbing the back of the neck and noticing how sticky it was compared to a couple new basses I recently required. I remembered seeing a video EBMM posted a while back, so I pulled it up and paid attention. A couple days ago I took the neck off, and went to work. Cleaned the whole neck a couple times with Murphy's Oil Soap. I then proceeded to mask off the areas I didn't want to sand, after which I sanded with 600 then 1500 grit paper. Followed that with some old Ken Smith wax/polish I've had for forever, and viola! The neck is now nice and slick and feels new again! I've owned this thing for well over 10 years, and this was the first time I truely cleaned and refurbished the neck... don't take this for granted... it helps a ton!!
