Not part of this club yet, but some day I will. I'm just waiting on the final price and than I can put my order in.

I'm ordering an SR5 HH in Translucent Teal, black pearloid p/g, maple fingerboard and matching headstock. :D

I hope that the waiting time won't be too long, but at the shop they told me it would probably be about 6-8 months :help:

Very nice. Definitely one of my most sought after basses. I played one in a musicstore when I was just a wee lad and it played like magic. The salesman pretty much told me the price and then laughed me out of the store. I played another one years later and again it was like magic but I still couldn't afford it Unfortunately of the three I've played since I *can* afford one, one was not for sale "for any price" and the other two were in horrible condition and played even worse.

Cherish it.

Hey, no pics, no bass. ;)

When you get it, would you mind telling me how the piezo sounds? All of the music stores around here carry MMs, and none of them have piezos. I'd really like to know what it adds to the sound.

I've decided that my next bass is gonna be another Sterling, and I'm considering the piezo option.

Thanks,
Graeme

Link Removed Very noticeable fret buzz because the bass needed a setup, but the idea is just to show the different tonal possibilities of this awesome instrument (including piezos, of course).

Thanks, and I do cherish it. Its my number 1 recording bass. I've had two other Stingrays. One was a honeyburst '99 5er, and the other was an awesomely mojo'd white '83 Stingray. Both eventually got the boot when this one came around. I found it at a Guitar Center in Houston a few years back and admired it high on the wall whenever I visited for a year or so. They had it marked quite high, but I'd always gravitate to it and play the other Stingrays down lower. I finally got the nerve to get someone to take it down and realized how much better (to me) it felt than any other Stingray I had ever played including my '83 SR I had at time time. Next time a "Labor Day Blowout" came around, I went up there with cash in hand, and left with it. It will stay here. It rarely goes out of tune, and sounds ruthless. I really want to figure out how to make some pads for the mutes... I haven't had much luck with that.

Good luck finding yours CosmoReverb. The good ones are worth having... :)

Since its hard to keep PMing people thier number, we can attempt to keep track in here. New members who want to join just post up and look for what number the last person was. SO the next person write #47, etc, make it noticeable to others, though. There are hundreds of ebmm players on here, so having them all PM to get a number doesnt make much sense.
