Anyone got any experience with the 1980 Fernandes Jaco JB-65J?

Really nice, all original one near me for a drastically reduced price. Can’t decide against a USA one.

Found this gem at my local Music Go Round for $400. Thing sounds amazing and doesn’t have a dent or scratch on it! The frets are look shiny new and have no wear whatsoever. The previous owner also replaced the stock preamp with an EMG BTS preamp and wired it at 27 volts!

Nope and I have two of the APB's. I've looked at a couple of Gravity's and noticed a couple of variances:

*No adjustable nut which I never cared for in the first place.

*APB's are MIJ. The handful of Gravity's I saw were MIK...not that it matters.

*APB's used their branded active pickups. The Gravity's I viewed were sporting EMG's.

*The Gravity's are missing the wonky pick-up positioning and bizarre bridge configurations as below:

I am looking at getting an APB 5 fretless. Of the two bridges on the ones you have, which do you like better? Do either of them have adjustable string spacing by chance?

The original / earlier version is a two-piece jobby (anchor block and saddle plate) and is spacing variable. They dial-in nicely to 17.5 but can be stretched to 18 mm max. The later models came with a fixed 18 mm column saddle array. The variable spacing assembly is a bit of a pain as the lock-downs may end up directly below the string. I actually have an extra fixed version (18 mm) which I purchased via a French retailer...not available on the US market.

The actual roller saddles are about the same size as a string ball-end. They ride back 'n forth on a squared steel axle and each saddle has a locking grub screw on the forward aspect. You can loosen, re-position, and re-tighten with the string in place and tuned to pitch.

Have any pics of the Fernandes in question?

Finally got my APB 100 fretless set up. I got it in trade this summer.

Very happy with her.

I have made a few additions to the old Fernandes collection. A '77 Burny Olds P in the coolest martini green finish I have ever seen, and a likely '79 stone logo P in what was probably Olympic White but is now more like Desert Sand. The P/J is some kind of APB model, but I am not certain of that, or the year. Probably late eighties or early nineties. Awesome trans pink burst finish though, and extreme resonance and sustain. Incredible condition as well.

I managed to squeeze in one more. There is always room for P basses right? This one is a The Revival model, which is a reissue style of the 57 P if I understand it correctly. Probably 1980 give or take a year, and it looks like Cobra Blue or something like that.

Is the scale length on an RB80 33.25 like a Rickenbacker, or is it something else? I'm seeing conflicting info on the interwebs.

Trying to get saddle mounting screws for my FRB-100. Anyone familiar with this name/model of this bridge; or the tread count for the saddle screws? The Fernandes catalog has it as a BB-501G

Hi All,

I have the chance to get an a 1991 Revolver FRB 55 for $110. Been wanting a PJ for a while, to go with my G&L SB2, this looks like a great deal. (Sorry the pic isn't any better). I will have the chance to play it if I want to pursue.

I own a bass fernandes from the 90s with serial number 032121 made in japan, can you help me out figure out model and year?

I bought it long ago in Hong kong.
Is this bass comparable to a P bass?

Using round strings but thinking to chamge to flat
