Man I got to play @nomatic's new 212 slim (900w) this morning and holy cow. not only was it shockingly small and light, it sounded truly impressive. I was kind of amazed by how loud, quick and deep this cab was. Super fast and punchy with tons of pop for a 212.

What were your impressions of construction quality / durability?

seemed pretty stout to me. nothing to complain about. The chrome and carbon fiber isn't quite my aesthetic, but it all seemed really well built

I have a Natural Fiber cab, it seems to be robust. I think part of the impression of fragility comes from the fact that it weights like cardboard. And I don't think GR Bass would offer a 5-years warranty if it was fragile.

No GR gear here but i just turned on to it recently and it's pretty interesting. Especially the lightweight cabs.

Yes from Italy. Mesa and GK are a bargain by comparison. Then again, Mesa and GK require you to use a hand truck to move cabs!

I really like the slim At212 and the construction seems tight to me. Keep in mind carbon strength is different than
wood strength. The salient points of this unit is high sensitivity, quick transients and flat response as well as freakishly light! I have played several gigs both indoor and a large outdoor stage and I have not found the edge yet.
I have the 900 watt version BTW.

Also depends on where you live. Importing my GR came in about as much as a Mesa I could get locally. GK is cheaper here, but still a bit of a sting.
I'd compare prices of GR to Berg cabs.

like @hamsterrorist said, it depends on where you are. I've been getting $1500 - $1600 quotes for the CF 212 and I don't think that includes $100-150 for shipping. Or 7.88% California sales tax. So Mesa would be a bargain, and heck, they make 'em just 90 miles or so south of me.

You can buy it from Thomann USA for $1,259, or even a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed], so even with shipping and taxes, it shouldn't be much more expensive than a Mesa. But yeah, I agree we should always buy local when possible.

My last 2 outdoor gigs for the season, last weekend was a pretty cool covered stage with amazing lights and nice sound system… this weekend we ran our own PA/lights (always good) but unfortunately the venue's makeshift stage and tent were down just after Labor Day so we were on the pavement, in either case the AT212 still just sounded amazing - great cab oh well, back indoors now.

Has anyone tried mixing cab brands? Just curious.
I have a Cube AT 800 that is amazing and have used it at an outdoor party with pa support.
We are playing a festival and I was going to pair it with one of my 8ohm Genz Benz 1x12's.
Usually, I play two GB 1X12'S and a Quilter
I haven't had a chance to add the second cab and mess around
