Hey all, if you're in the US and are looking to pickup GR Bass gear, I got this latest Slim 212 from Bass Spotlight (on Reverb/Facebook), as always Randy was great to deal with and had just received inventory, not sure what's left but I know that he's planning on ordering more soon. That's where TK picked up that GR-ONE-800 head too, there may be one of those in my future as well. Awesome stuff!

GR Bass 1x12 gig report (wood cabinet & bought used locally for a decent price).
I sat in for a bass player Friday night with 2gtrs, keys, loudish drummer, and 3 vocals.
The one rehearsal was at a decent volume but the club was very loud and other players got more aggressive with stage volume. I had thought that I brought too small a cabinet and was not going to injure it by pushing too hard. I used a 73' J bass, Traynor SB500 head, Passinwind EQ/HPF and a cheap Duncan compressor. The rig killed. Very clean tone and plenty loud enough and with so much bottom in the room I pulled some bass and had the HPF set reasonably aggressively on the pedal. Given the choice I would have bought a 2x10 or 2x12 but pleasantly surprised how well the 1x12 worked.
Highly recommended.

Since you've had a chance to play both the AT212 and AT212 Slim, I was wondering...
- Is the front port/rear port location a non-issue?
- Does the difference in enclosure size affect the low end feel and voicing (e.g. tighter punch for the smaller enclosure vs slightly bigger and rounder low end with the larger)?
- If you got to keep only one of these two, which would it be?

I haven't been able to A/B test them side-by-side quite yet. I'm traveling for a couple of days and won't have a chance to test them side-by-side… will do on Wednesday or Thursday of this week and post back some additional thoughts. And I'm keeping them both, my 2 other 2x12s are exiting :)

I like my GR ONE 800 head so much and since I am waiting for my AT212 Slim cab to come in. I decided to sell my Laney 500 watt 1x12" watt combo amp that I use in my music room and purchase this new GR ONE 350 head. I also found this like new GR 1x12" 450 watt 4ohm cab on Reverb for a good price with a cover. This little combo is surprisingly loud. :bassist:

Picked up an AT212 Slim this weekend from a fellow TBer and took it to a gig that same night. Pretty great!

The weight is ridiculous and it sounded good too. I'm coming from playing more vintage voiced stuff, so while it's not as mid forward as my Ampeg's, I wouldn't call it a scooped cab.

The lows and highs are plentiful and sound great though. I definitely want to try a one800 with it.

Actually I left it on as a joke to see who would actually notice and complain about it, again.

My first cab, I had left the sticker on for a while, and it showed up in pictures and folks on TB were agrivated and made several comments. So I figured I would leave this one on until it got the same level of comments and/or complaints and then finally remove it when I get around to it.

You, my friend, have won the honor of being the first to notice on this new cab! :woot::smug::D:laugh::);)

I think I'll remove it just before gig #5 :woot:… or?

Maybe I'll wait for the comments about the protective, blue plastic on the chrome corners, and then ultimately the references to Mini Pearl's price tag left on her hat :woot:… all in good fun.

I'm not worried about them making good on the warranty, I bought it from one of the best dealers in the business, IMHO :thumbsup:
