No offense guys, but I don't trust any of you really enough to buy stuff without something backing me on the deal... maybe this thread will change my mind but the concept of buying online without some security feature of some kind. I dunno, maybe this thread will change my mind.

The first time I bought something from someone over the internet was when I sent $25 to a student/DJ I met on a MUD and he never sent me the mix tapes he promised. Took a few years to get over that, but since then I've bought three basses, four speaker cabinets, and one power amplifier via private transactions over the net with no problems. Mostly through bassgear.com... I still haven't purchased a single item through eBay.

I'm not trying to change your mind, though... some people do have horror stories to share. The risk can be reduced through a combination of common sense and "spider sense", but it's never eliminated.

I got this puppy off Talkbass... never looked back. Great amp... and with the new fan I just ordered, it should get a lot better!

I've had the pleasure of dealing with a couple of members up here. Can't remember some of the names, like I know I got something from PigPen, and I think it was a Stingray, and a real nice one. I just got a Pedulla Pentabuzz from ZuluFunk, had a crack (which of course I knew about), but a VERY awesome bass. I got an Elrick neck thru and some other things from JoeEG, who was an absolute great guy. And many others...

The one thing I noticed is every one on this board has absolutely rocked. I've had some people ask many weird questions or what not, but all the guys up here have been straight up. I've been trading basses for a little while, so its nice when dealing with straigh up cats. Thanks a lot guys!
