I've had recent dealings with Lamar Jones and David M Wilson and in the past with PhatBasstard, Ryan Lunnenborg, Zacl and a couple others here, I forget their user names, but I have had great experiences with ALL the TB folk I have dealt with.
All have been solid people and all my dealings thus far have been good for all concerned, as far as I know anyhow.

I tell him to send it back and he starts giving a bad time saying I misrepresented the cabinet (not true! besides at that point he had not paid jack squat for it) He stopped returning my emails and kept the cabinet. Since then I have bought some stuff from Steve "Dude" Barr and he has always been 100% reliable (as are the vast majority of people on this site).

You don't have any PMs saved from him? Can you find the old thread. You obviously know where this jerk lives, I'd hunt him down and get my amp back.

I just sold my Joe Meek MC-2 to maxvalentino who had the Paypal payment in my account instantaneously. He lives in the boonies, however and added $1.90 to the shipping cost. :p .

I also just sold a Digitech Multi Chorus to freemole and he did up my Paypal right away as well.

I was leery about my SansAmp RBI for BBE Bmax trade with lesforprez because the dude lives in Hawaii. I could have shipped mine, and he could have just not shipped his and I'd have had to buy a freaking plane ticket to Hawaii to find him. He would have to do the same with me if I screwed him over, so we both had to be honest with each other, which is tough in this day and age.

Everybody else: check my swap meet, do good, get praised here!

I also had a good experience with Bass Guru. He actually came by my house and traded me a Benavente for my Marcus Miller bass and a few extras. I was thinking of selling the Benavente originally but now it has become my main bass and I'm not sure I could do without it. (Much better tone than my Fender MM)

Recently, I needed to borrow an amp for a gig and JSCHRO (maker of Schroeder cabinets) invited me over and helped me out as much as he could. He also let me borrow a cabinet and I ended up liking the tone a lot. He let me purchase the amp and cabinet off him at a great price and was only a standup guy.

IMO, allowing people to post complaints is a very, very bad idea. Look what happened here - a well-respected member that has been doing deals with many TB'ers had his rep pooched on the basis of one unsubstantiated accusation.

Sorry, but my feelings are we should allow positive feedback only. If you don't see positive feedback about someone you're considering a deal with, take that as an indication you may need to take precautions. Hell, for that matter, you should ALWAYS take precautions!

First off, I'm speaking as a member, not a mod - this isn't one of my forums. That said...

Perhaps the solution would be to only allow negative posts if they're accompanied *at the same time in the same post* by a rebuttal from the other party. It would require a mod to do this, of course.

FWIW I'd have no fear sending you anything at all even if I had to wait for you to send whatever back. I think most people here are well aware your very good reputation. Don't let one person wreck it for you.

No Matt, this happened a couple of years ago, before I was saavy to the ways of online transactions. I look at it as a lesson learned. The guy responed to me after I posted a response to a TB ad and put my email in it, so you won't be able to go back and find his info. (i hope that makes sense) If that dudes integrity is worth the $300.00 he was supposed to pay me for the cabinet then that is too bad for him. I've moved on and I have no interest in going after this guy. I will however, keep my eyes open and if he pops up again I'll warn any buyers or sellers about him privately.

I agree, this was a bad judgement call on my part, it's not our job to be the judge and jury here. I'd like to get Paul's opinion here personally. PM sent to involved parties.

PS, I did not mean to delete TBG's post, it was an accident, I left it in quotes for others to see, who may have seen the original post....it's only fair to allow him to voice his rebuttal.

Read the post right in front of the one where you spoke up against me, where I explained it. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT. It took me over an hour to edit the crap out of this thread, since for some reason I have a very bad internet connection at the time.

I meant to leave his, so others can see his side of the story who have read the other side in the past, but ACIDENTALLY deleted it. If you will notice, I left it in the quotes of others, as I pointed out in the post you ignored. I also deleted ALL the other posts saying otherwise, in case you didn't bother to read back to those either. I said I now agree it may have been a bad idea, and I did the best I thought I could do to rectify the situation, with the exception of my mistake of deleting Danny's post. Think less of me as a person? What the hell is that all about? All I was trying to do was post what others had told me of their experiences here, I know neither party, and there is no beneficial gain to me either way.

This might be a bad idea to post, but I never got my $400 dollars back. I learned a lesson like Matt Till said. Im not buying gear unless I have some kind of insurance or guarantee.

Maybe you two need to re-open communications. Is it somehow possible that it's all a mix up?

Well, I hope you guys can get it worked out. I think you maybe need to deal with paypal some more, as no one seems to have the $400.
