Official "I Bought This On Talkbass" thread.

Just received my EH Big Muff Blue Light Special from fellow TB'er tplyons. The pedal is in great shape, and was packed very well. I received exactly what Tim described to me, and he wasted no time shipping it. Tim is a stand-up guy, and 100% honest.

I bought an Undercover double gig bag from Dave Wilson and I was treated EXACTLY like I would want to be treated.

Incredible communication, shipped immediately, extremely well packed, reasonble price and better than I expected condition.

That's a winner in my book. A very nice guy, to boot.

The first time I did a Talkbass connected transaction I got ripped off big time. I don't remember the guys Talkbass name but I remember his real name (won't mention it publicly but I would PM it). He gave me a sob story about being a poor working musician in need of a good 2/10 bass cabinet. He said he would'nt have the money for the cabinet until after he got paid for a couple of upcoming gigs. I felt sorry for the guy and foolishly shipped the cabinet to him and told him he could pay me when he got paid for his gigs. He emails me after the cabinet arrives (an EBS 2/10) and tells me that it isn't powerful enough. I tell him to send it back and he starts giving a bad time saying I misrepresented the cabinet (not true! besides at that point he had not paid jack squat for it) He stopped returning my emails and kept the cabinet. Since then I have bought some stuff from Steve "Dude" Barr and he has always been 100% reliable (as are the vast majority of people on this site).

I think it would be fine to post his name. If you can find his e-mail or some old PMs we could figure out who it is.

I think the idea of this thread is to share who is good to deal with (the vast majority) and who we should stay away from.

Oh,
Im waiting for Nino to finish my new Valenti. So far its been great working with him and he keeps me up to date with all the details. I already have one I bought from him and I love it. Ill post more when I get the new one.

Peace
Nick

I appreciate the opportunity to share my experience with other TB members. My reasoning for not wanting to share the guys name was multifold:
1)I didn't want to sound like a jerk, airing my unfortunate personal business with anyone who would listen
2)I didn't want to violate the spirit and purpose of any existing posts
3)and lastly...it was just plain embarassing
His name is Joe Pazdan and is from Maryland and at the time was playing in a band called "Red Dog Red". I don't have anymore info other than that, it happened a while ago and I have since replaced the hard drive on my computer so I lost alot of old info. We communicated exclusively through the email (another mistake on my part, I should have used PM in order to create more of a paper trail)
He has happily turned out to be the exception and not the rule here on Talkbass.
