Tell us more why you like the AC ? Have the California for smooth drive and grunt.
Id be interested in hearing more on the ac as well bassiklee. I know people dig the American for bass.
Ok, sorry it has taken me a while to get back to this. I didn't order this pedal. I "innocently"(ahem) walked into a GC, and saw the AC, the British, and the sweet baby, all behind the glass in the used pedal section. Grabbed all three, for $45 total. Anyway, the AC goes from fairly clean to really raunchy, and everywhere in between. The eq is very effective. It growls, it snarls, want it to barely break up when you dig in?? Done. Want Geddy? He's in there (jazz bass, new strings, overplaying the strings required, of course). Want a PSEUDO-SVT? No problem. I could very easily play this pedal as my base(spelling intentional) tone, always on, or as added hair, or both. Much more useful on bass than the British one is.
So I returned my Ultimate Drive. It had a great sound but I had no practical use for a full on distortion. I am down to just a Joyo Ultimate Octave that I use for fuzz at home just goofing around. I found a setting on it with mid cut engaged and tone all the way off or close to that sounds pretty muffy to me.
But I'm interested in getting some sort of preamp pedal to run into an amps effects return. Just ordered a Rumble 100 and it will have my clean and vintage sound but I'm also wanting an overdriven svt type of sound at times. Just for versatility and more at home goofing mainly.
My question is will it be redundant to get an American Sound since I will have the fender tone already? And I'm also considering the AC Tone since it was mentioned by @BassikLee that it can get pseudo svt sounds. AND will either of these work as preamps? As in direct into the power amp(effects return) on my amp?
I'm just thinking if I had a preamp with a different voicing, I would essentially be getting multiple amps using the same combo.

I ran the AC tone into the effects return of my veyron. Worked berry goodly.
The American sound is a great overdrive, but is a great cleaning Amp sim also IMO. I use mine on a board with a comp and radial SB2 passive DI for when I am playing gigs with IEM only, and have no need for effects. Great for dialing in a voicing of your liking. Using it in this way is a great option, but it might need to be into the front of your amp rather than effects return.
Hey folks. I need to get a power supply with a minimum of 7 isolated 9v outputs. I've been running a Voodoo ISO-5 which I love, but ran out of outputs. Anyway, the JP-2 popped up in my searching and I want to get your opinion on the quality, lifespan and overall positives/negatives. Most of all, are the outputs truly isolated?

Yeah, it claims to be isolated, but each individual outlet is not truly isolated.
Probably a mistake in translation, an error in the language barrier.
They are and they aren't. That unit feeds the brick with a higher voltage. I believe it is 18v, then each output is fed via its own voltage regulator. In that sense, each is isolated from the rest. That said, given that they all come from one transformer, they are not isolated. Some pedals require isolated power. Most do not.
unfortunately I didn't have very good luck with jp-2. After about a month it got very noisy with an oscillating hum that got worse as it got warmer. Probably just a bad apple but I switched to a voodoo lab after that. ymmv. Just my experience.
I have a Voodoo now and have never had an issue with it just need 3 additional 9v outlets.
Has anyone here tried the Tai Chi? Is it a Zendrive?
I have played with mine for a while. It's unique, at least compared to what I have, although I can dial in tones that I get with other (fuzz) pedals it's something more/different than that.

Just recently received the Joyo UD, and I'm loving it! Just the right grind and sweet sounding when I dig in, as I had hoped for. Quite pleased! Can I get a number?
