I wonder how this performs, nicely I'm sure. If I didn't have a couple options in my M9 already I might just pull the trigger on this.

I really like it. It's a clone of an older MXR Flange, I believe. Either way, it suits all my flanger needs, and I have no reason to ever get another one. I'd say go for it if you find yourself wanting/needing one. It's a solid pedal.

Tone shaping, with just barely an edge. I use the sweet baby as a boost, with slightly more hair. No clips yet. I keep going back and forth between the joyo stuff and an MS-60b as my "amp", then run into a B3 as my effects, plus DI.

I bought the ultra drive a couple years ago, when they were all the rage on here. A few months back, I walked into a Guitar Center, and they had the sweet baby, AC tone, and british all sitting in the used case. Very clean. Got all three of them for $45.

Even the British sounds good clean, though there isn't much headroom there.

I have the American Sound and the Ultimate Drive. The American Sound is noisy with the gain up and the character turned to the right - sounds great though. The Ultimate Drive has a huge bass response, sounds boosted, but the distortion has a harsh fizzy treble that can't be tamed. I've used it after a Behringer BSY600 to good effect and before the BSY600 as a boost with the gain down and the level up.

Hello, I just tried a new setting on my American Sound that sounded very great in the mix.
I set the Voice around 2 o'clock with the drive set low (around 9 o'clock), then eq Lows mids and Highs to taste (in my case a tiny boost of the lows and a tiny cut of the highs while keeping the mids at noon).
It gave me a very warm tone with a very nice saturation of the mids, not in an agressive manner.
And with the drive kept low, the low end stays well defined.
Played with a pick and a P Bass it was really nice in the mix of my band. The kind of smooth saturation you really notice when guitar is not playing if you see what I mean, that gives a very rich tone to the bass while not being too intrusive or tiny.
