I haven't even received my California yet (slow shipping from China and all) and I went ahead and ordered a Vintage Overdrive. I always liked the way the Tube Screamer sounded on bass. I checked a few vids on Youtube of people comparing the two and decided it sounded enough like the real thing to add one to my pedalboard. Which means I now have to reconfigure to hold all this awesomeness. It never seems to end.

I recently found a Chinois website that sells Joyos 4 at a time for a great price... but they won't ship to Hong Kong! Anywhere else in the freq'n' world but not just-across-the-border...

I'm itchin' for that flanger and to try out SunnBass' mod-podge tutorial finally.

I've been looking at getting a Boss DS-1 and doing the bass mod I found here. Is there a Joyo pedal that clones the DS-1 or am I better off buying a used DS-1?

I got my Vintage Overdrive yesterday. I didn't have much time to play with it, but what little time I was able to, it sounded great. Less low end loss than a Tube Screamer. I was thinking about modding it, but now I may not need to.

The California also arrived and it had the exact sound I was looking for. I was thinking it was going to be more like a Tech21 pedal, but it isn't. It is more of a distortion with a nice eq. I may change my mind on that when I get to mess around with it more.

Both are built solid. Better quality than my Behringer Vintage Phaser. Now I'm wondering if the Joyo Phaser might sound better...

The overdrive sounds great. I don't think the tone knob has a big range. Since it's a guitar pedal I'll keep it closer to the left anyway. I think I'll change the knobs though. I have some like the ones they put on fake Rickenbackers.

The California is awesome too. A little bit of drive is all you need to get a dirty sound. The eq is actually an eq, which sounds odd and is hard to explain. The nicest thing about it though is how smooth all the pots feel. I have never had potentiometers that feel this way. Which is weird.

Well I haven't read all of the 2 threads on the joyo club, but I figured I'd join as I've got a couple.

I've had the Ultimate Octave for a while now and it's fun but not a fan of the octave effect for bass. I've been wanting a dirt or overdrive pedal so I purchased an Ultimate Drive after reading all the good things about it around here. I really like it so far, what little I've played with it anyways. But I am already planning on modding it for better bass(based on johnk's mods in the Dialing in your...thread)and actually just ordered the capacitors this morning. Hoping I can do a recording to demo before and after. And of course refinish.
