Has anyone tried the Joyo Ironman JF-307 Clean Glass with bass (or guitar) or compared it with the American Sound? No one in town carries Joyo pedals so I can't try them out. I guess I could just order the American Sound because it's cheep and bass tested, but I really like the minimalist approach of the Ironman pedals. Is it worth paying more for less?? Maybe.

I was reading through the threads and noticed thay you have both the AS and a VT pedal. I have that same model VT pedal, can you tell me how the two compare? My only complaint with the VT pedal is that it has that Ampeg tone built in and I am running it into an Ampeg B-100R. It's subtle but at the point where I am getting the mild tube overdrive I want I think I'm getting double the Ampeg tone filtering (for lack of a better word). I also have an SWR Workingman's 12 and I much prefer the VT with that amp but I prefer the B-100R for everything else.Got mine yesterday. Only had a few mins with it at home, but it seems great! Low end is there, lots of range, chorus to crazy. Band-practice tonight. Also look forward to trying the American as a cleanish boost into my new Barbershop

I too run mine into an Ampeg rig, PF 350 and 2xSVT210AV´s. I have both pedals and they are similar, but still different. Haven´t got much Fender experience, but I guess, as others have said, VT has a baked in Ampeg quality and the AS has a baked in Fender quality. Neither has given me exactly what I want, which is a mild organic tube drive. Both close, but the VT quickly gets to honky and nasal (perhaps its the 2xAmpeg-thing??) and the AS has to much going on in the mids and I keep having to adjust and cant quite get it right. My rock/cover band recently hooked up with a second (tube-rigged) guitarist, so I´we dialed down my need for overdrive and been going more for a solid bass foundation to our sound. I´we lately more or less used only my Barbershop into comp for an always on mild drive. That never fails! I´we been using my VT as a heavier drive, with Character a good bit past noon, which seems to work well, honk free. MY AS is at the moment set clean and as flat as I can get it, as a boost into the Barbershop, which also works out nicely 
P-bass->Barbershop->comp->SS Ampeg. Don´t really think i need anything else. To improve I think tubes would be the only way

Which one is supposed to emulate the Mesa sound? The California?

The Cali does a great job at emulating the Mesa tricked Fender style preamp voicing. Warm clean to fuzz with character, very full lows, sweet highs and nice tweakable mids. Gets very close to the Bass400 and other Boogie amps MkII to Dual Rec.

Any input on Joyo chorus pedals? I'm looking for a decent chorus for my guitar, but I'm not exactly a chorus connoisseur. I like my buddy's Hardwire chorus, and my Dano Cool Cat is ok, but I'm looking for better (than the Dano). What do you think, can a Joyo do shimmery, but not too bright chorus? Thanks!
I use my UD as a low gain drive. In fact, the gain is rolled off completely, but you still get a tiny bit of hair which is nice and thick.
On another note, I'm running my AS in a parallel setup, the AS driving the UD sounds gnarly
I´we got it and its a straight forward chorus. From mild to pretty seasick. A little low end loss I find, but no big deal, especially if you plan on using it with guitar. I tend to mix it with my clean signal anyway.
For the money - it's a great chorus for guitar. On bass, mine has some switch pop and loses low end as most chorus pedals tend to do if they're not designed for bass. You could make it work really well in conjunction with a blend pdal/circuit if you want to retain some low end. I have a both a cheap (and famous, highly sought original) Arion Chorus and an Arion Bass Flanger. The bass flanger is a better pedal for bass because the blend is built in. I think there's some volume increase in the analog chorus as well.
I liked the Cali more than the American actually. I gave it to a buddy in need so I dont have it anymore but I remember really liking it. THe American is great too and they are very similar. Idk if it nails down the Mesa sound, but I believe it had the Mesa dirty flavor.
And yes, the UD can be used as a low gain drive. In fact, it most likely does it better than higher gains IMO. It started to get mushy the higher in gain I went IME.
are these cali/as/brit based on other pedals or Joyo originals? As I understand it all the rest of the joyos are clones?

That rules out the chorus for me...don't want a chorus that needs more real estate to use a blender with. I already have a Dano Cool Cat chorus and a Clone Theory that don't need a blender, so will pass on that

Joyo just forgot the vt bass which is strange since it would be a big seller.
