Thanks for the info. Looking for a tone suitable for heavier fast stuff. I’ll try those out.
The California Sound might do the trick for you if you dig the Mesa Boogie Sound, does a great job for me from clean to very saturated but still detailed and singing. I find that tweaking the shape really helps articulation.

Ideally, I’m thinking cheap B3K for my second board. Now, how close I can get with some of these bargain pedals... but I can dream!

How can I get a fuzzy distorsión from the American?
Any good settings to try?
Mid “voice” up (min 12 o’clock but push it as high as you can before it sounds like too much), then mid parameter up to a similar level to the mid voice, get a decent amount of gain and balance the volume using the volume pot as you add more gain to get it grindy, then adjust low and high pots to taste.

That’s roughly how I set it in guitar into an edge break up tube amp.
I only lower the mid voice if I want a cleaner amp sound as it takes all the thump out of it, the thump sounds great with gain from the pedal and the tubes combining.

Hopefully the same settings will sound good for bass with your presumably SS set up. Let me know! I haven’t really played bass through it but I know it’s a great pedal for bass.

Guys, my American is acting weird. When I try to plug in with a 1 Spot it sparks, plus when connected i lose a lot of signal and have a lot of hum.
I'm going to change both my cables going from the bass to the pedalboard and the one going from the board to the amp, I hope this kinda fixes it
Anybody know what could be wrong? Should I be worried of damaging my other pedals or the American?

I found that mine sparks as well. Occasionally it will power down like the power jack is loose but when I took mine apart everything looked solidly soldered. I can’t complain too much considering what I paid for it.
