So, is the general consensus that TI flats are the shizzle?? I'm gonna experiment for the first time w/ some on my JO and maybe my other Lakies, all fretted. I've got some Chromes on my Yamaha (budget) fretless but I'm not impressed. What do you guys recommend?

i am a big fan of flats. i like chromes and currently have lakies on my lakie. i forget who makes them, but they are nice. never tried TI, but they are the gold standard, yes?

I don't like Lakland's rounds. On my fretless JO, I use Sunbeams. Hi-beams are coming for a run on my 4-76 and lakland flats for my fretted jo.

I don't like Lakland's rounds. On my fretless JO, I use Sunbeams. Hi-beams are coming for a run on my 4-76 and lakland flats for my fretted jo.

Just checked prices and description for the TIs !! Not worth $70 plus to me! I'll try Chromes or half-rounds, I'm sure the PICKY band won't like anything but my current SS 55-94 sound anyways. But, screw it! I need some variety occasionally damnit!!

They have more mids that others I have tried. I like mids.

I had some TI's on a fretless and ended up taking them off. They were just too low tension for me. I prefer a little more... But they do sound amazing.

I have LaBella Tapewounds on my fretless now and I really do like them.
