Ugh, the more I look at the Decade, the more it starts to creep up my GAS list. Currently at #2 or #3 behind the Hollowbody.

Oh, and here's an idea I was kicking around while drooling over the Lakland site. I would kind of like to see Lakland's take on like a violin-bass. Like a smaller, semi-hollow/chambered version of the HB. Almost along the profile lines of the decade.

Bass was built at Lakland by/for a Lakland employee years ago. Jason got her at some point. I first saw it on ebay almost 2 years ago (IIRC) when Jason attempted to sell her or changed his mind, I dunno. *** I hope he jumps in with more and better details*** But, I fell in love with the bass then. Found TB a while back and Jason and his bass where here. He decided to let her go at about the same time I was dreaming of having a 55-07 built, and selling some gear. I can't afford every bass on the planet, so I decided to get Jason's baby and let Carl at Lakland install the Chi-sonics and LH-3 pre. She had the MM/J Bart pups and pre, which I love but already have in another 55. Anyways, the MM cut in the purpleheart PG would've left gaps around the normal Chi pup chrome surround, and probably wouldn't have looked as good as the MM covers. So, Carl housed the Chis under the MM covers, gave her new strings and one of his PERFECT setups, and Sexual Chocolate was given a new voice. :bassist:

EDIT: Oh, and my bud Markus gets credit for naming her. Thanks man!

Cool man. Thanks for the info. So, is it everything you hoped for and more? It looks fantastic!!! Sometimes thing just work out:bassist:

"Girls with Buttercups"? No I said "Girls with D Cups"

Well since Doug spilled the beans....Decades and hummels don't mix:

I don't know if it is just me, but the violin shaped basses don't do it for me at all...I feel another hair ball coming up:-)

Now...Decades...we know how I feel;)

Has anyone faced the silent A string issue on the 55-94/-02? I wonder if that was only that noticeable with the LH3 for I haven't heard any complaints about the Bartolini.

My friend uses heavy downpicking so he has an issue with his Laklands. We decided to try and exchange his LH3 to my Bartolini since I don't use a pick and that problem is irrelevant with me. He's on tour now and hasn't installed my pickups yet. I wonder if that helps... otherwise he's probably putting away his 55-02 and switching to the Chis completely...

never faced a"silent string"...what do you mean? can you be more specific?

as for your final comment.....going to CHIs completely is a good thing....no matter the reason!!!

Sorry dude!

Poor man's tuna salad: tuna flavored cat food + free mayo and mustard packs from a fast food joint, scrounge a pickle slice or two off a tossed 1/4 pounder from a dumpster, and an old bun...... voila! Mmmm Mmmm

Wait.... nah, just eat the tossed 1/4 pounder :hyper:

the 1/4 pounder would have "extra merinaded" flavor for sure!!

Gotta keep a potitive outlook!!!!

Hmmmmm.....interesting idea.....not sure of the extended market for such a bass but interesting all the same!!!

Oh yeah, and one more thing, if you have to, BEG Dan to let the LOGBG5CS happen even if we fall a little short of our goal. I think a lot of people just need to hear THAT pickup in THAT location before they commit (since that configuration has never existed).

Cheers.

If there aren't enough total for either one, i'd be willing to partake in the 5 string version instead of the 4 string that i reserved thus far.

i can always get another lakland that's a 4 string for those detuning fun days.

If Laklands equal kids... buffordbass should be loose as a goose!

Oh now......
Natural Green & White Truck, of course.... It is NOT my original Decade, but after much conversation and planning, I think we figured out the thumb rest deal to eliminate the carpal tunnel problems with right hand position.
Mattygbass provided the "like new" Decade for me to test the theory with, many thanks to him!!! If the LOG bass hadn't been looming, he never would have let it go, I'm sure!! He DID make me promise that if I dont keep it for at least 6 months, it goes back to him.... LOL, I am looking for a new Lakie World Record!!!!
