Going to the mother land tomorrow(Lakland).
Going to get a picture of Markus bass.
Anyone else have basses waiting they want pics of?
I will find some cool basses and take pics.

Find a fiver with a black blocked maple neck with my name on it....

....it really doesn't exist, but in my sleepless delirium, it's the closest thing to dreaming I have right now.

Have a great time. Give us some hints of what we get to see at the GTG.

Oh yeah, and one more thing, if you have to, BEG Dan to let the LOGBG5CS happen even if we fall a little short of our goal. I think a lot of people just need to hear THAT pickup in THAT location before they commit (since that configuration has never existed).

Cheers.

Awesome, check mine out and take it for a test drive if it has strings on it. It's a LPB DJ4 Skyline from Bass Central getting a pearl pickgaurd and ChiSonics installed. It should be under the name Thoe, Steven.:hyper:

Cool! Enjoy, John. Give me a buzz if you have time to meet up, I work downtown.

Oh man, great choice! That's going to be a killer.:bassist:

im sure the pickups were probably just ones they had in stock.and seeing that yours is an early 2001 it was probably put together before they discontinued the older style barts
if it was a replacement neck it wouldnt have a serial #
the pickups go in last

I think someone recently found out that a bass he was going to buy was a skyline with a US neck that DID have a serial number

I have a 55-07 coming as well....wish I could have talked Dan into putting an Ebony neck on mine...oh well!
and he did sound grudgy! He probably yielded to ebony because we decided to drop mahogony! :D

congrats to your friend (and you) for the "upgrades"
Thanks! Looking forward to check every little thing for myself!

as for your body question, it is possibly a replacement neck...7 years of play may make it look old.....
send Kirk pictures of the cavities and see what he says!!!
So I did. But I found I'd sent the message to myself instead of Kirk :) I wonder what Kirk will think when he sees I forwarded my letter to me to him... or, my letter to him to me?... or... wait... :D
Anyway, when I got the bass it didn't look heavily played, more like... well... abandoned or neglected

look forward to pics of the 55-07!!! What color?

Mine is blond translucent with a maple neck and a black pickguard...

It's translucent burgundy with no pickguard. I think that will be nice although I can't imagine that very well. Wait, maybe Marcus could? ;)
Blond translucent with maple and black - that's what I was talking about!

Has anyone faced the silent A string issue on the 55-94/-02? I wonder if that was only that noticeable with the LH3 for I haven't heard any complaints about the Bartolini.

My friend uses heavy downpicking so he has an issue with his Laklands. We decided to try and exchange his LH3 to my Bartolini since I don't use a pick and that problem is irrelevant with me. He's on tour now and hasn't installed my pickups yet. I wonder if that helps... otherwise he's probably putting away his 55-02 and switching to the Chis completely...

After seeing my last statements (which came today) I NEED a diaper!!!

Soon my cats and I will be fighting for the same cans of food....do I like loafs or chunks?

PS - no matter how "bad it gets" the Lakies stay!

Sorry dude!

Poor man's tuna salad: tuna flavored cat food + free mayo and mustard packs from a fast food joint, scrounge a pickle slice or two off a tossed 1/4 pounder from a dumpster, and an old bun...... voila! Mmmm Mmmm

Wait.... nah, just eat the tossed 1/4 pounder :hyper:

So Jedi, either.... tell me the story or post a link to the story behind that sexy slice of orgasmic cocoa;)

Bass was built at Lakland by/for a Lakland employee years ago. Jason got her at some point. I first saw it on ebay almost 2 years ago (IIRC) when Jason attempted to sell her or changed his mind, I dunno. *** I hope he jumps in with more and better details*** But, I fell in love with the bass then. Found TB a while back and Jason and his bass where here. He decided to let her go at about the same time I was dreaming of having a 55-07 built, and selling some gear. I can't afford every bass on the planet, so I decided to get Jason's baby and let Carl at Lakland install the Chi-sonics and LH-3 pre. She had the MM/J Bart pups and pre, which I love but already have in another 55. Anyways, the MM cut in the purpleheart PG would've left gaps around the normal Chi pup chrome surround, and probably wouldn't have looked as good as the MM covers. So, Carl housed the Chis under the MM covers, gave her new strings and one of his PERFECT setups, and Sexual Chocolate was given a new voice. :bassist:

EDIT: Oh, and my bud Markus gets credit for naming her. Thanks man!

Chew got it!;)
