Hey all

Need to get used to the thin neck and bright pickups but im digging the huge range of sounds on this fine instrument.
Congrats! My 55 was my first Lakie.... changed my life!

NICE!!!!! I know what you mean. My new DJ isn't Indo-Plek'd, but it IS Kor-Plek'd, and it plays like a dream.
On a separate, although equally great, note.... Stuart finally got to come home from the NICU today. Apparently, it's pretty rare that they ever let a sub-36 week baby out, but he was really itching to see daddy's Laklands![]()
It's pretty awesome to have him home, and it's also VERY cool to have him out of the NICU, since it was costing us almost a US Lakie a day to have him in there (yep, self pay small business employees here). Regardless, we are blessed and couldn't be happier to have him. Who knows, maybe by the end of the week I can actually pick up a bass again![]()
MY boy is 2 weeks old...I have squeezed in about an hour on the bass since he got here....and thats with my new 4-76 in the house...agghhhhh it's tough but worth it.
I did manage to put some flats on the -76 and man it sounds Suhhhweeet!
Great pic! And, I bet that bass sounds FAT w/ the flats!
Hey, I think one of us should start a "post your SICK BEM Lakland fretboard pics", maybe make it a vote for the best kinda thing. Stupid, silly??
yeah, I'm thinking I'll win
..... Sexual Chocolate's FB smokes my 55-94's, and I thought it was unparalelled! It'd be some fun excuse for bass porn at least. WhatchY'all think?
Just about done recording my band's first EP/album. All my parts done with my 44-02D and I have to say... sounds pretty damn good if I do say so myself![]()
Awesome, you got a myspace w/ clips??
My first stuff was recorded on a pawn shop rescued 4 track recorder (cassette) 19 years ago. Talk about crappy recordings!! Made it onto the radio though, "Tennessee Tapes" is what the radio station called the local rock time slot. God we sucked, LOL.
As to the '97 body and '01 neck question.
Kirk answered the body was made on a special order that was later cancelled, so it only left the Lakland door in 2001, with a new neck and pickups.
Cool![]()
Awesome news my friend! And hilarious how you relate everything to Laklands. Maybe we should gauge everything monetary to "Lakie Bucks". "That new car costs 18 US JO Bucks!!" or "I dunno honey, that house you want is over 100 55-94 Bucks!" HEHEHE.

lost me on Schrute...
I spend all my free time on here, and it's in the AM, as you know. Then it's sleep, run, and work 6 days a week.

But, right now life is LAKIE-LICIOUS![]()
Exactly what I thought of! I have a Dwight Schrute bobblehead on my desk, and a copy of a Schrute Buck my buddy made when he worked here.I like it...Like Schrute bucks!
