I hope that is the case. I know it is tilted a bit.

Does look awfully nice though. Seems there is a bit of figuring or something on the fretboard. As someone else mentioned the weight makes it even better. I don't remember, was this finish going to be standard (No signature (me likey) or binding)? I thought at one point the ones that came out before were just a limited run. I still am wishing for some new finishes in the Skyline lineup. Can't beat the prices on these though. I don't want anything to happen to that. :D

I believe Natural is now a "standard" DJ color option on Skylines, but I also believe the black blocks are an option/limited run......Markus - can you confirm/deny?

I took a brief tour last night and got a few nice pictures from Lakland for you guys to see. It'll be a day or two before I get them up. I'm still in Chicago and won't be home until late tonight. Kirk was a real gentleman to meet with.

In other other good news, my interview with the FAA went great (that's what I came to Chicago for) and I have been officially hired on as an Air Traffic Controller!

wow! GREAT news!!!

where will you be based? I often listen to ACC when flying (on United)...bound to hear you sometime....you need to work some "Lakie lingo" in now and again for us to recognize you.....

like "Turn right at Lakie Tango and go straight to Chi love"

can't wait to see the pictures!!!

wooohhh!!! I did not see this before making my comment a few posts up.....freaky :ninja::p:eyebrow:

Thanks,
It's all still sinking in right now. I just finished up at the FAA about 2 hours ago so I'm totally stoked. It took me 10 months after I applied to get to this point. Almost a year in the making!

You guys are gonna love this US DJ4 I snagged a pic of. That's all the details I'm giving on it for now.

hmmmmm......how did I miss it last week? Look forward to pics!!!

Diggin' the surfer! I still can't put my JO5 CS down.

I'd be reeaalllyyy interested to hear how the single coil Chi's compare to the humbucker Chi's on the Decade, especially with an ear towards native SC and 'toggled' SC mode.

Congrats on yet another beauty!

Thanks! so far what I can tell is that the tone is thicker then my 4-07 in single coil mode. The Decade (singles coiled) is thicker then the Surfer. Pickup placement is key with all of these basses. The ChiSonic pickups add something to all of them, but the respective basses keep there characters.

Thank Evan!! So far I can tell that the Chi's do exactly to a J bass that I thought they would...make it delicious! High notes are thinker and more rounded, and not as much fret noise. A little bump in the tone knobs give it a bite that is different that the natural one. Still trying to place my finger on it...

See why I had so much trouble describing it??????? can't can ya....."better"? well, yeh but....."thicker"? well yeh but....

Yes it is! Perfect with the pearloid guard and RW board!

Based on the Chi'd up Js I've played, including Doug's, I would agree. At first, I recall he was concerned there wasn't enough top end. But it was very easy to EQ it in. Congrats on another great bass, my friend!

Thanks! I think there is plenty of top end on this one!
