So I am off to Cali (Sacramento) tomorrow for a quick 3 day business trip...am trying to see if I can get together with Ferg (if his schedule matches mine) and hope to give you guys my (all important) impression of the '76.......
Have fun out here. Bring extra money, we just raised taxes.

yea... I was happy with everything with my dealer up to a point. Communication broke down big time and mistakes happened. It's largely my fault as I changed my order a few times. Even so, not cool.
that's one reason why it is nice to deal with a smaller dealer, not as much on their plate.
i was very happy with bass specialties, but i think if i make any orders in the future it will be through Leo
Maybe soon....I am just starting a relationship with a firm that does alot of work in Cali!!!!
Or should I bring "extra money" to pay for a bass or two???

So there are a couple of nice Lakalnd fretless 5 bangers on E-bay (thanks all for pointing them out to me!!!)
one of them has about 20 minutes to go and no bids...the other has a couple of days left but has been up once before and failed to get a bid (AND is in Sacramento - where I am going tomorrow)...
on a LONG LONG shot I e-mailed both about a potential trade&cash offer...not holding my breath but if you never take a risk you never get anything!!!

Nice. Dumb question; but... those are Nordstrand Big Singles, right? Did they fit without any extra routing or anything? I'm looking to get a good, active 5'er on the cheap...ish. I've been thinking about doing something almost exactly like this!
I'm also tossing around the idea of picking up a used Skyling JO5, dropping Chi's and/or an Audere in...

Saw Papa Roach on Leno last night while at work. Bassist had a black/maple Chi-loaded DJ4, I think. Coulda been a JO maybe. Didn't see it in time to figure out what it was. But, it was definitely a CS Lakland.
Big splits and a Sadosky pre... no cutting needed if you look very close you will see that the pick ups had a small gap around them. But its not so bad that it would make me want to take them out lol.
