SOLUTION:

Come up on May 23rd at 1 PM for the Lakland GTG.....let us all play it and give you our thoughts....THENM have Carl (the master) look at it and let you know what he thinks.....he should be able to tell you immediately IF you need a PLEK or just some tweeks (which he can do then and there)...if it needs to be PLEK'd you can leave it there....

Man - I impress myself with my problem solving skilss (LOL!!!)

Yeah, I would love to come up but that weekends spoken for.

Unfortunately I think the Joe is going back to Guitar Center on Monday. After thinking about it, with the amount a fret level or Plek will run me, the condition of the bass and fact the case it came with is kind of jacked I think I overpaid a bit compared to what some of the "mint" ones have been going for. Some things seem strange about it and I just don't find it nearly as playable as the 55-94 Classic I used to have (see pic).

I'm going down to Club Bass on Monday to check out what they have and might pickup a Skyline DJ or JO.

If anyone has seen my 5594 let me know. Last I know it was in Arizona.

Later,
Ryan

Any chance in gettin a pic of the JO? before you take it back:cool:

Off subject question.
Does anyone here use a Genz Benz Suttle 6.0?
If so, with what cab?
I am re-doing my rig.
Sorry

YEAH, 2 of 'em. One powers my Berg NV215, the other powers my Dr Bass 2460D that sits on top. I wanted rack mountable lightweight amps, that sounded as good as my Carvin B800s.

Genz or tube fans may get upset by me saying that they're "as good" as my Carvins, but I felt that my old B1500 sounded better than the Thunderfunk 550B too.

Ryan: Good luck!!! have fun finding a new bass....looking for Laklands is always fun!!!

I've had this bass since March, but only now found some time to take some proper photos of it. My photography skills suck, so I took a whole bunch randomly to catch a few good shots. Tell me which one you guys like best! I'd like to start hone in on my GAS-evoking photo skills like you guys!

As for the bass itself, I've gotten used to its feel a lot more now, but it still hasn't become "perfect" for me. For one, I'd like an onboard (or outboard??) preamp, and maybe change out the stock strings for DR fatbeams to give it a more familiar setup. I'll report back after I've gotten even more intimately familiar with the bass. Until then!...
