Thermometer out on my deck says my Laklands are living in 95 degree weather. Love it! Of coarse they are in the house at 72 degrees.

I’ve been playing a 55-94 for about 7 years, and am just about to pick up a 55-02 as a back-up. They’ve gone and switched pick-ups on me. What are my Lakland-playing brethren thinking about the new Lakland pick-ups in comparison to the Barts? Any significant differences?
That’s question #1.
Now for question #2, directed at those who play a Lakland fretless. I’ve got a Pedulla Pentabuzz, which I love, but I don’t like hopping around between different bass weights and string spacing, both of which are an issue with the Pedulla against the Lakland. So, I’m strongly considering converting to a Lakland fretless for the reasons of consistency on stage. However, Lakland fretlesses are hard to find in the shops and so I haven’t had the pleasure of a test drive. So… Lakland fretless users… what say you? Are you loving your fretless as much as your fretted?

for number two: I have a fretted and fretless USJO. The fretted was my workhorse until I got the fretless. The fretless was originally fretted but I had Lakland defret and epoxy the fingerboard. They did a great job and it's been my main gig bass ever since. It gets a nice punch at the bridge and a soulful sound from the neck. Basically, it's everything a fretless J bass should be. While it's always slightly awkward going back to fretted, the basses are fairly consistent, which makes life easier. I don't know what else to say.
If you are local to southern NY, you can try them out and get a feel for yourself. I'm terrible at describing things. Anything specific you want to me to look for?

almost... it's 42 degrees, raining, and windy here in NY.
I've dealt with 95 degrees many times in my life. No thanks! Besides, it's 50-ish here now, but it's going to be in the 70s in a couple days.

#2. Nothing specific. Just a poll to get some feedback. The Pedulla has the best sounding mwah I've ever experienced, and so I expect some drop in tonal luxury going to the Lakland. But I'm willing to sacrifice some tone for the convenience (not to mention pick up a few bucks for a new Eden head), so basically I'm just fishing for votes that the 55-02 fretless doesn't sound like poop. I can't imagine that it would...
