FUNNY the way this all works!!! I had only briefly (like 5 minutes) played a JO5 before ordering AMBER and my white DJ4 (my "first Lakies")....they each took about 8 months and my CAR Glaub came along and it "kept me happy" until the other two arrived as well!

I will order a US Lakland one of these days...and take the full 8 months to pay it off, lol.

The EBMM will be here this week. :smug: but at least i still have a Lakland somewhere out there... :ninja:

Now for question #2, directed at those who play a Lakland fretless. I’ve got a Pedulla Pentabuzz, which I love, but I don’t like hopping around between different bass weights and string spacing, both of which are an issue with the Pedulla against the Lakland. So, I’m strongly considering converting to a Lakland fretless for the reasons of consistency on stage. However, Lakland fretlesses are hard to find in the shops and so I haven’t had the pleasure of a test drive. So… Lakland fretless users… what say you? Are you loving your fretless as much as your fretted?

1) The Laklands are more aggressive and (IMHO) I like them (overall) better than the Barts....at least MOST of the Barts I have tried to date. They are more lively sounding....I think you will REALLY like them...if not, there are several 55-02 (used) around here with Barts...

2) YES YES AND YES!!!! the quality is the same and the sound is FANTASTIC! I have a sweet 44-02D (for sale) - getting a 5er soon....if I can sell the 44-02 it MAY even be a US one!!!

where are you? maybe you can try my 44-02D to see what you think of a Lakie fretless...

#2. Nothing specific. Just a poll to get some feedback. The Pedulla has the best sounding mwah I've ever experienced, and so I expect some drop in tonal luxury going to the Lakland. But I'm willing to sacrifice some tone for the convenience (not to mention pick up a few bucks for a new Eden head), so basically I'm just fishing for votes that the 55-02 fretless doesn't sound like poop. I can't imagine that it would...

Re: #2 - HECK NO!!!! I LOVE the LH3 fretless I have (Lakland pickups and pre-amp)...you can get a nice J sound plus many others!!!

Mine were Skylines and STILL took 8 months!!!

Someday I will order one as well....and I KNOW exactly what it will be (until something else cathes my eye!!!)
