Super cool. I may try to learn the whole four string thing so I can get one, too. LOL.
Great links. #1 was just what I was looking for! Very helpful. (I've been searching web up and down for such a demo for weeks... a little annoyed that I never came across that one. It's perfect.)
#2 was probably more depressing than helpful, but helpful nonetheless.
A Lakland really is a one-stop shop. I feel so smart for choosing to play them.
Actually I think I want to keep it....I asked myself to give myself 5 reasons to sell it? And I couldn't come up with them! I'm starting to connect with her....more than a feeling

as for "buyer's remorse".....it is always short lived with Laklands!!! get over it so you can get another!!! (LOL!)

OK, that IS over 2 years, so it's an average of 14 per year, just like the other guys..... I'm not sick, just adventuresome!!!

... and I've never been able to do a deal on a HB, Scheff or DJ..... but then as the man once said... ' the day aint over'....
i thought the 2nd vid was really cool. i'm a fan of loopers and i felt it was put together pretty well. you can also bet that his sound wasn't just straight across...it was probably going through a few different effects.
i think i'd like to get a Scheff one day...the sound clips of the scheff model is very appealing.
I think once i get the right rig together...or couple of rigs, i'm going to be looking for more Laklands. and probably other basses, too.
I like the string spacing for slapping...I'll probably still slap with the DJ5, but my preference is just for wider spacing at the bridge and still having a thin neck at the nut.

hahaha...i'm not even going to bother with it. I know if i had it, it would be one i never sold...if i didn't like the sound, i'd probably put different pup in it.
the bem neck and the perfect amber quilt are what i'd be keeping it for. call me a collector.
A little of both can be a good thing, you know... I think as long as they are Laklands, you should be ok.
This is quite true. I really liked the 55-01 fretless i had, but i want to do more slap style and i'm not willing to beat up a rosewood fb to do that. i'd also like to figure out what model i want to get in a fretless before actually getting it. maybe a DD or BG
They must all be great up there to let you use one of their basses to hammer nails in the wall.
I have buyer's remorse all the time, lol...but it's only if something doesn't really stand up to my expectations. So there better not be too many nail marks in the headstock of my DJ5, doug!
