when the Doug wave hits, he'll be able to talk all about his 44-02 fretless. And I know this guy likes his 4-94 fretless:

You're in the area, then? Cool. Make sure to come to the get-together on May 23rd! Details on laklandowners.comLooking forward to hearing from the Doug wave. (Is it just one guy who likes to wave, or a whole tide of people named Doug, I wonder?)
I've actually spoken with Dan Lakin about the fretless, and the insanely charitable man said he'd put together a 55-02 fretless for me to test when I went in to pick up the 55-02 fretted I'm ordering. I suppose that'll be the first time I get to try it. It may be a little awkward if I get there and plug in and really, really don't like it. (Like I said, I can't imagine...)

almost... it's 42 degrees, raining, and windy here in NY.
I've dealt with 95 degrees many times in my life. No thanks! Besides, it's 50-ish here now, but it's going to be in the 70s in a couple days.![]()
Hey, thanks.
Not exactly in the area, but close enough.
If I can sell my 4-94 to aquire the cash I need for the 55-02 purchase, that might be a perfect time to pick it up!

I've had this bass since March, but only now found some time to take some proper photos of it. My photography skills suck, so I took a whole bunch randomly to catch a few good shots. Tell me which one you guys like best! I'd like to start hone in on my GAS-evoking photo skills like you guys!
1As for the bass itself, I've gotten used to its feel a lot more now, but it still hasn't become "perfect" for me. For one, I'd like an onboard (or outboard??) preamp, and maybe change out the stock strings for DR fatbeams to give it a more familiar setup. I'll report back after I've gotten even more intimately familiar with the bass. Until then!...
Visiting the in-laws and catching a few concerts on HD Net, and saw some sweet Lakie porn during the Death Cab show. A defective version of one of my dream basses.... he had a natural Glaub with a black blocked maple neck (unfortunately it IS a four banger, lol). Dug up a pic...
