Yeah...I really like favoring the neck pickup on my j-cs. Nice roar! Sorry to hear about the Decade though:crying:

Dude, congrats. That is awesome! I am jealous. Color and all... leave it as is. OR try a nice trans brown with a white pickguard. Old Skool for sure. It's gotta be a simple trans color though. Nothing solid, and let that grain show. I'll send a pic tonight of a happenin p-bass in trans brown. I think you'll dig it.

randy that's awesome big congrats to you my friend, the very first glaub 5 ever.

i was really impressed by the glaub 5 myself, i definately see one in my future.

trans brown-ish, white pickguard and that maple board. Now that's a killer combo. It's old school hip and will still let the grain of that bass show. I'm probably going to get a fiver with that combo someday... someday.

Recently I am have a chance to get my first lakland 5 strings Jazz bass. But I am hard to decide between JO and DJ.

Besides the size, actually is there any sound difference in same specification ?

Well, I'm definitely leaning towards a translucent traditional finish for this one, and going nutty on my next bass. I just feel like this one is a bit "special", and I need to make it a bit more timeless.

The whole point of this is to have the ultimate CLASSIC bass, just in a non-defective form. If I start leaving off pickguards and such, I might as well make it dune buggy silver flake... (actually, maybe someday I'll do a JO5CS in silver flake....mmmmmmm).

I'm really leaning towards either a burst or some sort of blonde/clear/butterscotch sort of thing. Who knows, tomorrow it could be sonic blue. Anyway, I have a couple weeks to decide.

I'm just saying...you could not get a P bass like that, sans holes unless you ordered it now and waited. Personally, I'd make sure it was classic, but had just a little somethin' somethin', and gave it that special thing without getting crazy. Either way you go, it will kill...maybe I just always wanted a p bass with a control plate:-)
