That's awesome, reminds me of my 78 Ibby P. The pickguard is in two pieces like that and I love the way it looks w/ the big part off w/ just the "control plate" remaining.

I love that tort control plate w/ that odd looking vol knob!! :bassist: I'd go w/ a tinted clearcoat, maybe throw a hint of amber in there or maybe just pure transparent, no burst. That bass looks great raw, it'll smoke when finished no matter what you do, just leave the tort plate...

just my preferences of course ;) you've gotta make her your own. Then sell it to me, hehehe

While I am at it, I would like to comment on my Hollowbody that I am selling (I am over my self-imposed limit for guitars [errr--basses, I tend to think of them more as guitars]). I took it out to jam with some acoustic/electric guys---what a sweet, sweet sound that bass produces. Absolutely the best sound for playing the type of acoustic blues/southern rock/modern country. They are going to record their version of the Allman's "Melissa" in a studio this week and they want me and the HB in on the bass (specifically requested the HB over my Decade and Kubicki), and I agree with their choice.

OMG---I've not visited in about 6 weeks and I am greeted with this!!!!:eyebrow:

The hijinks are neverending! Keep up the good work.

I sure wish I could have gone to the LOG get together. That new shortscale Decade looks very intriguing.
If you want to see hijinks, check out the pics from the GTG.:D Wish you could have made it. We'll definitely have another next one next year.
