Official Mesa Boogie Subway Series Club

So, has anyone else noticed that Sweetwater is now showing they can “Get Mesa Boogie” but they are no longer stocking Mesa Boogie. What’s up with that ? Just goes to show where Sweetwater is going with the buyout I guess.

That's an assumption. Perhaps @agedhorse can expound on the relationship?

True it is an assumption, but they did go from waiting on shipment, to get can get it on almost everything Mesa Boogie. This combined with the buyout just makes me wonder what the future holds. I can only assume they are trying not to have capital tied up in inventory. I have no insight though, so I thought I would if anyone else does.

I think they are collecting demand, larger orders, so that Mesa moves them up the delivery backlog line. This new approach replaces the "email me when available" which did not count towards their orders.

To be clear, we are building lots of Subway amps and cabinets (but clearly not enough). The problem is that demand is outstripping supply, and with the lead time on parts anywhere from 1-6 months, we often find ourselves waiting on a part that may have been ordered months before. All the while, orders keep coming in. Some dealers scheduled ordered 12 months ahead, as as their build ticket comes up they get filled. I know several players here received amps/cabs from Sweetwater in the past few weeks.

Those dealers who ordered an amp or two and then sold out (without having additional orders on the books) find themselves at the back of the line for their follow-up order, just like every other dealer ordering on that day.

I mean, it’s not like Honda or Toyota has a shortage of cars either or anything… or NUMEROUS other companies facing manufacturing issues. Sweetwater also says the same “isn’t an item we normally stock” for NS Designs and Fodera so… I highly doubt this is all because of the change of upper upper management.

How long do you anticipate supply issues for Mesa will last?

This current Forbes article says the problem is systemic worldwide.

Good question, I really don't know but i would guess that another 6 months wouldn't be a surprise.

Well, congrats on that part as least! You seemed to have kicked up some dust with this whole line of amps/cabs. They live up to the hype and then some.

FWIW, got my TT800 from Sweetwater just about a month ago now. And am loving it, I might add. It was just a matter of checking every morning to see what had just arrived. Scored a CS '61 Sherwood Green Metallic P bass from them last weekend that way. As I type, GC has 1x12 Subway cabs in stock. Stuff's being made and shipping out, just not a lot of vendors have oodles of stuff in stock, for long anyway. Demand is indeed outstripping supply on some gear.

I think that might be wildly optimistic.
You may be right, but there are ways to improve this (as we have done) if you know in advance that it’s happening.

Identifying components and materials in advance of extreme lead times is a strategic process, and forecasting needs well in advance of the need.

I'm starting to hate my mesa rig.
I bought a d800+ , a 115 and a 210 about 4 weeks ago.
Since then, we have been in either full lockdown or a partial lockdown that forbids gatherings at home or at venues.
The rig is just sitting there in the corner, lurking like a serial killer.
I don't think I can blame it for covid but I really miss playing.

I know I will forgive it when this is all over and it will take me travelling.

Sorry you have to suffer like that. I just got in from a gig. Subway D-800+ and a pair of Subway 212s were amazing tonight. God I love these amps.

Hang in there, man. They'll get loud soon.

I saw a few post back about product availability. Specifically Mesa products.

There are amps on eBay. I found all of em there. From the D-800 to the TT-800. As well as some cabs. 112, 212, 210s. I didn't see any 15s though. But I swear by the 212s and 410s. Having a grand time with those. Every time I claim to favor a cab I run one of the others and start swearing by them. So if some one wants a 212, which will rock your world. EBay is open.
