4 Stroke 500 with a GK Neo212-II.
Hi All,
I'm a long time guitarist and drummer and I've just recently really gotten into playing bass beyond my own demos. Took a while to settle on an amp but I ended up with an Orange Terror Bass and an Avatar 210... see profile pic. Keeping my eyes peeled for another of the same cab to potentially stack when needed... though not sure it's likely I'll find another in the same white tolex w/ this grill cloth.
I'm liking it a lot so far. I'll be gigging soon and am writing on bass. All originals... indie rock, more or less, and I use an 80s MIJ P bass. I've been looking for something with personality as I try to find a voice on bass and the Orange felt more like there was something going on and not just a neutral sound.. or something too complicated. On the way to this set up I ended up with an Eden WT800 and 410, which was cool... versatile and pretty hi-fi to my ears. Probably way more versatile but I wasn't feeling it, so I flipped that rig for a tidy profit.
Anyway.. just wanted to check in and say hi !

Just be wary of the amount of power going to yr single 210 cab.
I'd think the BT500 could blow it apart if it was given the chance
Greetings to you in Tasmania. Long time Blundstone wearer, though I know they are made overseas. Anyway, its an 8 ohm cab w/ a pair of 350 watt Eminence Delta Pro 10s rated at 350w each, so I think I should be good. It does make me a bit nervous when I crank it! Pretty darn loud.
This may be a long shot. Does anyone here have experience using a LBT into a mini stack comprising an SP210 and an OBC112?
I love my trusty SP210 - it will never leave my possession. Together with my LBT, it can get loud enough for smaller gigs. I wish I could find another one so I could cover medium and larger gigs as well.
I haven't been able to test an OBC112, but I imagine an LBT into an OBC112 would give me slightly more oomph than my SP210.

Scratch that. I just tracked a near-mint SP212 that seems to have been forgotten at a small family owned music and struck a good deal.

You just need the FS1 footswitch to toggle the compression/drive...
Well I've stated in other threads that I was getting a new vehicle and I was going to have to get rid of my OBC115's because they were not going to fit in the new vehicle, heck they're hard to get into the old vehicle lol. Well I finally got rid of them and I already miss them, but no choice, I had to do it. I was either going to damage them, my new car or myself trying to get them in and out.
So today I picked up my new OBC112's and I have to say, damn they are really small. The smallest cabs I have ever owned. They look like little practice combos lol. The size actually bothers me a little bit. But hey I can lift them with one hand and throw them in the back seat or trunk with ease. I gave them about a 30 minute run today comparing them with my two GK NEO112's and the GK's are definitely a bit louder. I think they'll be usable for about 90% of my shows and if they work for the other 10%, that would be great. If not, I have other cabs as well.
Tone wise I need some more time with them to give them a more educated review, but they already seem to have just the right amount of low end, mids and high's for my usage. I used my Terror Bass today and I'll be trying the 4 Stroke with them sometime this weekend. I also need to compare them with one of my 8 ohm TC Electronic K212's and that should give me a really good idea of where the OBC112's volume sits at.
Anyway I'll report back later on how they are working out for me. BTW, did I mention how tiny these things are

on a concrete floor, lost a lot of low end where I was standing, but the audience said it was loud and clear, and heavy!

Yes, it definitely changes out front and is something really worth taking into consideration, especially with a solid concrete floor

I think the Orange, Aggy, and Classic Mark sound the best. The Eden sounds good too but seemed to have a lot more noise at idle. The rest didn't care for as much, either too "hi-fi" or piano sounding to me. Thanks for the link!
