Recently I got a 12 string bass and like it in many ways. I've read about Tom Petersson and others using a crossover to split the bass signal to a bass amp and the treble to a guitar amp. I have the crossover and I can do it with current amps, but I was curious if anyone else had done this and if so, which Orange guitar amps did you use? I'm not sure where this is going to go, if only because there is a tremendous increase in gear to move for gigging situations, but it is kind of fascinating.
You can also wire you bass in stereo, like Rickenbacker 4001/4003 basses. Those basses have two output jacks.
One is "Standard" like on any other bass. You get the outputs from both pups combined into one signal.
The other they call "Rick-O-Sound. You get one signal for the bridge pup (and it can go to a guitar amp where you can overdrive the heck out of it,) the other signal for the neck pup (which can go to a fat, round sounding bass amp.)

I don't need another box, 18 months ago I sold my 410 because the sound of the 115 was better for the music I was doing, I was even thinking about buying another 115 like you, but... I don't need another box!
And... I just bought another 410.
I play in a new band, and the sound of 10s fits better. Now I have to decide if I keep or sell the 115. If I get another 410, or a 210 or if I lose my mind and go for a 810...
I've got the 410 and 115 and wished that I had of waited and just got the 810. For no other reason than you simply don't see that many of them in the wild.
They look amazing. But I'm not sure how practical they are. I wish Orange made 6x10s!

Thanks! Sorry to introduce some GAS. I have the 410 & 115 combo with a Fender stack and it is more focused. I really prefer the 2 115s tone for most any situation. I'd like an 810, but I just can't move it. Too old... too many stairs... still want one.

True... I had a walnut Rick with the ric-o-sound feature. Don't tell the Ricky folks, but meh! A lot of work for not much bang. To be fair, this may be the same deal. My question was really more about the guitar amp. I've read which Orange TP uses and it's a little out of my budget for guitar amps. I will probably just get a mid sized used combo.
Still, the question is, has anyone here done the split and used guitar amp for the highs? If so which amp did you use?
It is almost every time a great option. It's just two applications where I feel I need the 10s. Maybe I play too effect-heavy.
I had my new 410 sitting there in the hallway waiting to be taken to the rehearsal room, but I thought "hey, you should make sure it works before you haul it all the way across town to the rehearsal room. So I plugged my Micro Terror in it... Boy, you could gig with that! I mean, as a last-resort backup and if the cab is mic'ed... or if you play in an easy-Jazz-quiet-lounge-trio. It looks fabulous too!
Update: I sold my AD140HTC. It was fun, but the AD200B is better suited for bass. And also, I traded my 115 for a 210 to pair it with the 410. Does anyone rock that combination here?

Yes, I originally wanted to use two OBC115, but I needed a more agile response with the music we are doing.
I am sure I will go back to 115s if I get my doom project going.
I joined the Orange club last night. I'm getting back into playing after an over 10 year hiatus and I needed a new amp because my little old Peavy has something wrong with it and it's not worth fixing. So I went to order a Crush Bass 50 and ended up with a Crush Bass 100. Next step is a new bass. Here it is next to the Peavy it's replacing.
What do you think of that 100? I am thinking about getting one, but I'm concerned it cannot compete with a full band since it is only 100 watts. I currently have a Peavey Max115 300 watts, but I'm not completely happy with the tone. And, to clarify, I am just a hobbyist looking to do some garage band stuff. Any insights you could provide would be welcome.
