Official Orange Club II

So, it's here!
I am probably not be able to test it until next week though... my hands are burning!

I knew this club had to exist and I’m glad I finally found it. In addition I have found the tone that I’ve been seeking for some time. It comes from a Christmas present I bought for myself.

I’ve paired it with an OBC115 and plan to get a second. Using about 50% gain and whatever volume is needed for the moment I get the meatiest and growliest tone. Love it! The only bad thing is, I can’t quite figure out how to get that tone any other way! :) A good problem to have.

I’m a huge fan.... may I have a number please?

I dig the black. I debated on that, but I went orange. Is that a pair of the OBC212 cabs? How do you like them and have you ever tried the 15s? Any comparisons you can make?

Grats! I know you have to dig it.

I am digging it!! Its my second tube head and wish I would have gone with an
A200 a long time ago! I resisted due to the cost and rarity of black,
but this one came up for sale by a fellow
member and couldn't pass up the price. Its near mint.

Yes, the Sp212s. I like them a lot! I know isobaric design is not popular but you gotta hear
them! They're very clear. Not as loud in comparison to a traditional 4x12 front facing
configuration. Very good lows. Not muddy at all with tube power. Im pretty happy with them.
Im not gigging anymore (for now)so they stay put in the studio. They're heavy.
But I would like to hear them live I bet they would do well.
I have a old GENZ 2x15 cab I played through and it sounded pretty good.
A bit Mid heavy. I have my eyes peeled for a couple 1x15 orange cabs used I would like
to have a pair. You can't beat 2x15s for rock n roll.

Best of luck in your quest!

What about #191 to go with it?

OK... I am going to ask the question although I suspect I am going to know the answer. I am in total bass tone love with my Orange rig with about 50% gain and whatever volume is needed. I currently play mostly with a silent stage and a fully staffed FOH. In that application, I use a Microtubes B7K ultra > Super Symmetry > REDDI > FOH. The pedals and tubes get me close to that wonderful growl and bite that I get from the Orange, close enough that I didn't know what I was missing until I got the AD200, but not the same. Has anyone been able to get the tone in any other way? I know... Just hoping.

You know, it warms the heart to see so much love for the obnoxiously orange colored Orange in these parts. (Of course seeing as how,it’s the Orange Club right?) I just get tired of the ‘what amp do I need?’ posts and rarely does one ever see an Orange recommendation. All I have is the Orange TB500 with the OBC410 and 115, but they have served me well over the past few years. I will say that an AD200 will be in the future, however a now driving 16 year old teenager has put quite the damper on music purchases :)

You know, I think I will start making that recommendation as it has a lot of tonal capabilities. I do think that one of the reasons for that is the cost, at least here. I could have bought almost anything from GC or Sweetwater for less than the AD200-- it was worth it and I'd do it again. Boutique amps aside. Still, it is worth considering for those that want tube tone.

So, one question. I have a Fender Bassman with the cab config you have and I really like it. The AD200 is currently paired with a OBC115 and I was thinking about adding another. Have you ever tried that and do you have any thoughts on the comparison between the 2 cab configs?

Hello all. I’m looking at a Four Stroke 300 to power a pair of SP212s. All the reviews and vids are for the 500. Do you think the 300 will have the same sound and “punch” at lower volume levels? I’m just a hobbyist playing in the house, and think the 500 may be overkill? Thanks.

300 is more than enough, I'd be hard pressed to remember a situation where I needed more than that.
Disclosure: I do not own a Four Stroke, I used to have a TB500 (crazy loud) and I run my AD200B almost always at 3 o'clock on gain and volume, so I believe my comment stands.
