Official Orange Club II

I joined the Orange club last night. I'm getting back into playing after an over 10 year hiatus and I needed a new amp because my little old Peavy has something wrong with it and it's not worth fixing. So I went to order a Crush Bass 50 and ended up with a Crush Bass 100. Next step is a new bass. Here it is next to the Peavy it's replacing.

Going with the 100 is a better buy. Had a 50 and while sounding good it didn't have much bottom. Gave mine to one of my nephews boys to play his guitar thru.

DSCN2562.JPG Thank you. I am not worthy, but I'll take it #187. Go Orange!
Only 3 likes on the coolest Orange bass Head and cab, and from the Orange Club!
I not impressed with me either as a bass player, but c'mon, the rig is something to behold. I would say that I'm taking my toy and going home, but I already am and it already is. Plus, It is always going to look like that, brand new, and that's the way I like it.:D

AD200 is a fantastic head, and a little more versatile than others give it credit. You just have to be prepared to use the eq. Doesn't have a bad tone in it. I have owned two - stupidly sold the first one then had to buy a new one when I realised that the only amp that sounds like an Orange tube head is an Orange tube head.

I was wondering if the Orange Club existed. Considering there's a club for the Quilter Bass Block I would have been a bit insulted if there wasn't one for the most gloriously hued amps of them all.

Here's my rig. Tried an OB1-300 first but just fell in love with the AD200B. Paired with two OBC115s and I am in 'slowly going deaf' heaven.

I would love to trade with you! I have a black head and an orange 115. Used to have the 115/410 set, but that was way too loud. I always wanted another 115, but then I can contain my GAS and leave it as is. Quite addictive though, plenty of killer tones!
You get #189!

Don't think I posted these before. Two old Orange Matamp OR200 amps, plus a 200 Slave amp.
The Fat Mattress stenciled ones were Noel Reddings that he used sometimes near the end of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, when not using his SUNN rig. Redding was a guitarist before he joined JHE and, apparently, fancied himself as a singer/guitarist/frontman. He started his own band, Fat Mattress and they would open for Hendrix, with Neil singing and playing guitar. Then when they were done with their set, he would switch to bass and headline with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. I think that lasted six months before he left/was booted out. In hindsight, hard to believe that if you had the Hendrix gig playing bass that you would have felt you had to front your own band too. Plus...Fat Mattress pretty much sucked. Too much drug use for Noel to have clear thinking, I guess. Either way, some cool amps with some equally cool history.

I am considering buying some gear: I am torn between another OBC115, an OBC810, an OB1300 Combo and an AD140HTC.
Just to be clear, I don't need any of those and they are around the same price except the OBC115. The 115 is used and comes with a case, which is a nice addition, but I don't need at all and bumps the prices a bit.

Have anyone tried the AD140 with Bass? I imagine it having not a lot of headroom, but I never play with my master or my gain past 9 o'clock, so that shouldn't be a problem. It bothers me though, that the minimum impedance is 8 Ohm, so I might have to go in and re-connect the leads of the transformer.

I can't offer any help at all other than the 810 is just plain sexy and has casters to boot. I've got the 410 and a 115 and wished I had sprung for another 115 instead of the 410. While I'm wishing, I wish that Orange would produce something lightweight and as portable as the Mesa Subway series. A small cab would look good with my TB500.

I also used to have the 410 and sold it. I wish that Orange would do a neodymium 2x15. A lightweight (well, as light as it gets) 2x15 would definitively float my boat, maybe put a horn in there, so it feels a bit more agile. Or a Bass 4x12. So more or less a Mesa Subway type of Box. :woot:

You could always build or have someone build you a 2x15 or 4x12 in the style of an Orange cabinet...
