Hey Flatwound.

I like the tone you have and I can hear some of that Terror Bass drive which really helps it come across in a band mix. Not too much and it sounds really good. It goes to show how that amp can really work great with different genres of music. :thumbsup:

Thanks, Wicked. It’s funny that the guys in the band say that it’s cleaner than the Carvin amp that’s in the rehearsal studio. I run the TB pretty dirty, and if I solo it, you can really hear the distortion. In the mix, it just sounds warm and punchy.

I mostly use it in a heavy/rock setting, too, and dig the preamp tube distortion. But that Clean switch is a welcome addition for, well, cleaner sounds. Hit the Clean switch, dime the Master, and add volume via Gain, and you should be fine in all sorts of styles. The 500 W are plenty, especially with loud cabs such as the OBC 112.

Started jamming with a country rock band, they have a 200w GK combo amp. Took my TB500 with both OBC12’s just to hear it again, man it sounded nice but don’t like just letting it sit out so took it home. Been looking at mini amps to have as a back up for shows and leave at the rehearsal space with my 2 Ampeg speakers I have sitting around. Was looking at that little Trace Elliot Elf but then started looking at the Orange Little Bass Thing, probably over kill to use as a back up/rehearsal amp. Anyone have any experience with the Little Bass Thing?

So I got the 4 stroke 500. What a scary powerful amp. Super flat, honest amp with a super eq. BUT! Mine showed up with the compressor not working, the power light not lighting and sometimes it wouldn’t power up. I had to return it. I may get a 4 stroke 300 in the near future to replace it though but weary about the quality control.

Yep, that's what I've been talking about. Even though mine is the 300, it is still ridiculously powerful. Crazy loud. I would normally worry about QC also if my first amp from a certain manufacturer immediately gave me trouble. But I really haven't seen reports of issues with the 4 Stroke so maybe yours was just the exception. I would give it a try again since it is such a great amp. IMHO.

Hello. Just wanted to say that I scored an OBC112 a few days ago, and it is amazing. I'm was a little apprehensive because of the size and not being able to try it out before hand.. and I've been lurking this forum for a while trying to decide and finally ended up pulling the trigger. But yeah, it sounds really great and it is super lightweight. I am very pleased with it. It's paired with a Terror Bass MkII now and I'll probably get a second cab soon just to have the ministack.

Ha! I looked for a while to find that mini 210. It's perfect in size, punch and vibe. My local GC has one of the Orange isobaric 4x10's. (I'm likely not calling it by the right name - basically two 2x10's, one behind the other.) I've been eye'ing it, but figure if I go another Orange cab, I need to do the big 4x10.

Haven't been in FW recently, but hopefully with things opening back up will find my way there again soon.

The Orange 810 actually is considerably lighter than the SVT cab, so go for it. ;)
