You can also ask VSN Guitars.They sell Tune Bases out of Canada.They would know.
And they post regularly on TB.VSN_Guitars | TalkBass.com

Hi all
I was directed here from another TBer so check it out! I'm not sure what model this bass is but all I know is that it sounds superb and fits me like a glove. Tone is to die for, especially the slap tone.. Emg pickups/phenolic board(i think)Anyone know specs/vintage details?

It's a Tune Bass Maniac. They first were released in the mid 80s and aspects of the design were quickly used by Ibanez,Nanyo SGC and Washburn.
There's 2 companies using the Tune name. One is still in Japan and holds the rights there.The other is in Korea and has worldwide rights.

Thanks to Tune super thin necks are quite common and the Bass Maniac is still in production.I saw your other post and don't think the number is a serial one.

I'm sure you've seen this.
There's been two four string Tune basses on Ebay for some time.Tune TWB43 bass | eBay
Padauk it seems
One is $550.00.s-l1600.jpg1.jpg
The other is $1000.00s-l1600.jpg
Both are Korean TWB43's.

Now we all can agree that the Korean Tunes are a bit less expensive that the Japanese Tune's.
But these are both Korean.
The $1000.00 one shows the serial number.
It begins with S.
It's not Japanese.

Would any of you buy a $1000.00 Korean Tune when you can get a $550.00 Korean Tune?
So far he hasn't dropped the price!

A fella posted on the Tune FB page yesterday asking how much his 5 string Maniac would be worth, photo wasn't too clear and some knobs were missing.
Given what they sell for new he was told not to expect a fortune for it. He said " That's OK. just paid $50 for it "

I'm smiling but I shouldn't,no way Tunes should be changing hands for $50. His win though,in a big way:)

Thanks for the response! Actually I should have clarified a bit.... I am aware of both of the links you sent but I would love to find an old/vintage ad or maybe something that states the actual specs of my bass. If you find anything let me know!!

geebass6, I am also considering replacing the Tune pickups in my TWB63 with Delanos, as well as replacing the preamp with a Delano pre. Is there a noticeable tonal difference with the Delanos vs the Tune pickups with regard to more growl, punch, bottom and clarity?

I don't recall there being a lot of difference in the tone overall.
I replaced the pickups because of a hum problem.Which was resolved.

I did use Delano SBC7-HE/S pickups for my sixer.
Which is a seven string duo coil pickup because the they are as long as the Tune pickups.
But a wee bit wider.I ordered the pickups from BestBassGear for $218.00

And one of them, probably the Korean company, licensed the Bass Maniac design to others, there was even an SX / Rondo Bass Maniac (of which I have a few).
