Picked up my second Vinny 5 not too long ago. Slightly different from my first as this one has a trussrod, bolt-on neck, and SD soapbar-esque pickups.

I'm happy to finally join the zon club! I bought a used Zon Sonus which just arrived. I wanted to adjust the truss rod but found this!
Is this normal? It looks sheared off inside....I think I bought a lemon.
There is no truss rod nut but I'm not sure. I emailed Zon but was told it's a truss rod and it can be adjusted in both directions.. I can't go back to the seller because it's already been a month. Thoughts?

Looks like you need an allen key to adjust it. I don't know if that's standard for Zon, but I've seen it on lots of other basses so it doesn't seem that unusual to me.
Inside is a flat plate...no perforations to turn it. I might need to etch a screw slot in... Repair or replacement would be plan b.
Did you contact Zon yet? Call them, ask, and send pictures. Way more useful that asking here.

The neck is back on. I'll play lighter and adjust the saddle, it just seems easier and I've come to terms with it... I'll try again later. I was just wondering if it was the same on other zons. Thanks a bunch.
