Why did they change? A set neck gives better access to the higher register and circumvents the 'crack' problem.

I was excited to see the used Vinny on Bass Emporium's website... until I saw that it is "no longer available" yet still listed in the used section. So sad. Wonder why they left it up?

Quick question - on my 2011 VB4 - is it enough to turn the volume to zero on the bass or do I need to unplug the instrument cable as well to disconnect the electronics so I don't inadvertently drain the battery? Thanks in advance!

well, looks like I'll be back in Zon-land. We'll see if I can live with the narrow spacing given my recent 4-string forays. My Skjolds aren't going to show for awhile and I've gotten rid of all my other 5-strings except the RA. If it doesn't work out, I'm sure it'll make someone happy. Should show up tomorrow:

Actually it is supposedly redwood, but it does look bubinga-ish to me as well. It evidently used to be a fretless, previous owned sent it back to Zon, had a new fretted neck (w/truss rod) put on and new 3-band preamp as well. Should be a sonic cutting beast.

I've had my arse handed to me on a platter (about 3 years ago) for a mistaken wood call, but that still looks like bubinga to me (therefore, worth more to me psychologically, but I've never owned redwood, yet). No matter, the end result is the matter, and you be stylin. Congrats.

I remember Joe's explanation being that more people were asking for bolt-on, so he switched over. Purely a popularity thing.

Loving It! Love the super stable neck.... Take it half way across the world and its still in tune and perfectly set up!

The lower output preamp also works really well with my little Alesis Jam Dock!

Love the strings too!

So pretty much pluses all around!
