I don't know much about Zon basses, but my '94 Sonus is a two piece.

$1000 is a good price for a legacy elite, IIANW.

I did ask about the new pink tetsuya bass and the color may (or may not) be a "tetsuya thing". Meaning, while Lakland has a signature model in that color it may not be available as a color option on its own from Zon. Maybe. AFAIK, there isn't a Zon tetsuya signature model but you can spec one out to be practically identical.

Oh, I've thought about it. :)

Cool. Did you ask Joe about it? I believe most (if not all) gloss finish on instruments has to be done by the same company/companies, so if tetsuya pink is available from any of those providers to Lakland, it will also be available to Zons too -- after all there's no color "patent."

I own a 55-69 as you do and am also considering the Zon tetsuya model...

I did ask Joe about it. Basically, he thought it was something that tetsuya intended to make his own but if interested Joe could pursue it and talk to tetsuya's manager and such. That's how I left it, anyway.

Also, a Legacy Elite 519 is quite an investment so I figured I'd better be *really* happy with whatever top/finish I choose!

That's cool that you have a 55-69 as well! Between you, me and ShowKing that's at least three on TB.

Yep, as I thought it (the pink finish) is completely practical -- as long as you pay a fortune :o for the mere cosmetic factors.

I have great interests on tetsuya's gear so I've been keeping an eye on his Zon gears.

On the Bass Magazine (Japan) March volume he demonstrated his 55-69M (the one with Ebony fingerboard and transparent pickguard) and Zon Legacy Elite 519 with, which I think is, Koa or Redwood top and match headstock.

I can take some picture if you would like to see them.

Perhaps we can even form a tetsuya signature club! LOL
