Huge Zon Fan here and an owner of a Hyper bass V, Legacy Elite 8, Legacy elite 5 and a Sonus 5/2. Someone suggested I post this video I recently did with my old band ( reunited for a special cause) on this thread. This song is all with my 5 string Legacy spalted Maple, with some good bass shots. Check it out if you have a sec.

whoa whoa whoa whoa you have a Hyperbass 5? ! ? !
let's see / hear it!
p.s. Love the playing and sound on that video!

^ amazing stuff! Does the Hyperbass have detuners?
no, I asked about the bridge detuner setup ala Manring and it seemed like they would do it for like 12k or something because it would be a complete custom thing for 5. I dont see how they would fit on the headstock either but I gues where there is a will there is a way. If I was doing more solo bass composition and not mostly band environments I would be more serious about considering it. I usually end up using my Warr Guitar and NS EU6 for solo stuff anyway.
word, it rocks regardless! such a cool axe. Would love to hear any clips. [p.s. 12k=yikes]
I flipping LOVE Warr Guitars. One of my favorite metal guys, Colin Marston, uses one for his experimental stuff. Do you play it touchstyle or plucking?
^ that stuff is fantastic! That's just the sort of music I'm into right now. Love those textures and chord progressions. So is that Warr guitar or regular guitar in there? I assume the former
the bass playing and timbre is killer. the Hyperbass really does have a distinctive voice. Very clear and human, or something.
Thanks man for checking it out! It is actually all tapped on a strat I have with a graphite neck haha. This recording is from around 2007 or so. What projects are you up to? I would love to check out any tunes you have.
^ sweet! Graphite necks = where it's at. I'm dying for an 8-or-9-string Strat with a graphite neck right now.
My stuff is nowhere near your level, but here's some minimal / ambient desert music duo stuff I've been doing lately -- these are just demos, and they sound a little stiff --

here's just some doodles / sketches

p.s. all basses on these are Zon Sonus fretted [2006] and fretless [2001] 5-strings
I dig the desert stuff. Makes me want to be in the southwest at night in the middle of nowhere![]()

^ thanks for listening amigo! Yeah, that is exactly the vibe we're going for.
I'm listening to the rest of "Ghosts" right now, it is flipping incredible. Wicked compositions! Did you write all these? They are definitely bringing the stratus-cloud melancholia up in here! [in a good way, obvi]
Thanks man.Yeah, I wrote most of the songs although some were collaborative efforts and I was playing with some really great musicians. It feels like forever ago as it was 5 years and I did another pretty different project since. I don't want to derail this thread any more than it already is but if you dig that you possibly might like my most recent band. A lot less rock and more Peter Gabriel meets Brian Eno etc. Link Removed
Anyways I am gonna go crash and let someone else have a say in here haha!![]()
