not sure. I'm south of there, but the owner said it's at his parents' house and he is currently in the southwest. it's over an hour away and if I had the funds I'd definitely check it out!

Anybody have any first-hand experience with swapping out the old-school Wilkinson bridge for either a Zon bridge or a Hipshot (obvious choices, but I'm open to suggestions)? Looks pretty straightforward (drill new holes on a drill press, then mount bridge), and it also looks like none of the holes will line up for easy transfer.

This thing is a total survivor. Got a quick video tour of it this morning, and it looks *amazing*.

I haven't done it on a Zon, but I did it on Roscoe. Not a hard job really, but the baseplate is a little bigger than a lot of other standard bridges, and the two screws along the front edge mean that the replacement has to more or less be the same depth in order to cover the holes.

No two holes lined up. Keep in mind that besides side-to-side you have to consider front-to-back to get the saddles where they need to be. Big deal. Get out your drill and go to town.

Had one just like it on a Carvin once. Ugh. The saddles move around, and nothing about it feels "solid" to me.

Wondered the same. I've had a Wilkinson on my Carvin for over 20 years now, and never considered swapping it. It's been a great bridge, and string changes couldn't be easier.

Congrats! Love to see some pics and soundclips once you get it! Also curious other weight. I have a Wideneck Moddy Q5that would be the equivalent of a6 string Modulus so I want to compare them as I may try to get something LITTLE lighter.

Hi Everyone!

Has anyone here done their own truss rod adjustment on a graphite neck Zon? What's the go-to relief spec from the shop typically, does anyone know? I was out of town for a few weeks, and when I came back to play my relatively new BG4 (LOVE IT!) it's started buzzing pretty noticeably, even on open strings that aren't being fretted. I did a simple relief check and the strings are pegged to the fretboard when I depress the first fret and the fret where the neck meets the body. I just wanted to know what to expect or how to proceed before I start start taking strings off and turning hex screws. Much appreciated, take care and talk to you guys soon!

Zon go-to relief is very low. I don't measure with a gauge; rather, I fret the first and the 17th (latter with my elbow, usually) and I will tap the 8th fret. Strings will be *barely* above the fret.

I realize that I'm describing a "feel" technique but it's helpful to develop this feel for use in the field, at a store, etc.

I'll measure with a gauge and report back, but I'm guessing it'll be in the .005" range.
