I've had Circle K for a while on my Sonus Custom 4. Being a 4-banger, I can't speak to the .136, but if you like the tone of the sunbeams you while like the tone on the CKs. They will last much longer and have a nice smooth feel. I find their tone to be well balance in both fundamental-to-harmonic content and in low-mid-high content. I perfect mix of stainless-meets-nickel. Previously my favorite strings where TI Superalloys followed by sunbeams or nickel LowRiders.

Thanks for the valuable input... how's the feel/tension/smoothness of CK strings compared to Sunbeams?

It's been a bit since I've used Sunbeams, but if memory serves, I think the CKs are smoother to the touch (less grabby). Tension wise, when comparing similar gauges, the CKs may be just a bit lower tension. Definitely less tension than Low Riders, but not floppy. I can still attach them with a pick and not feel like I'm getting hung-up.

That sounds good. I've been using circle k's on my main bass (6 string) for a couple if years and I agree that they are a wonderful combination of the attributes of nickel and steel. They feel great, are supple (even the 136), are bright but warm, and last longer than sunbeams for sure. I think they could be a good fit for the Fretless Sonus, which has been rocking sunbeams for a while now

I know the trend is to post pics first, and then reviews later, but I'm going to go in reverse order, as I have had time to play my new Legacy Elite 4, but I have not had time to take any photos.

I am in love! Joe really knocked it out of the park! The tone is exactly what attracted me to a certain Legacy Elite I played at NAMM years ago, and have been haunted by ever since. It has that elusive mix of fullness, clarity, and tonal balance, and it is very responsive to right hand technique. Play it hard, and every note has the power and clarity of a hammer striking an anvil, but play it softly, and it’s warm and sweet. It’s also very responsive to adjustments to the blend knob, and I really dig the tone of the neck pickup, solo’d. The Polyfusion EQ seems nice, too. The instrument itself doesn’t need any adjustment, tonally (I dig is straight up), but the tone controls seemed very effective for when I might need to fix a room or rig. The treble boost is especially nice. It’s very sweet and musical sounding, which is not always the case.

Oh, and it feels so darned comfy! Weight is 9.6 lbs, which I find quite reasonable. Pics to come, I promise! :smug:

I know it's very much the honeymoon phase, but I've been through these phases before. This bass is really connecting with me, big time. I am so totally happy! Still waiting on a D-tuner, though (they were temporarily out of them and had to order more).
