Official Zon Club Part 5

New here. Wanted a Zon for decades. This vb5 popped up at a local pawn shop. Literally freaked out.

Thanks guys! I was completely floored when I saw it. Paid $600. Called Zon and got full serial info and history on it. Shipped from them in 2002. Only one I've seen in cobalt translucent gloss finish. has original case also. Not gloating, but feel like I stole it.

That is an outstanding find and price.
Here I thought Pawn shops did their homework with google so bargains like that have to be rare.
I could walk by a 100 Fenders and not recognize a bargain, but anything Zon for $600 I'd snap up.
Congratulations.
Give us a review. We know it looks good.

I brought it to a local bassist that some may have heard of , Trip Wamsley. He studied w Mr. Manring. He knew the original purchaser and recalled Joe Zon calling him (trip) to ask about original purchaser, as specs got changed constantly. Lol. Anyway Trip checked it out and was amazed also. Bass was sold to another bassist later. That person pawned it. Had a lot of gear and was unloading it. And I happened to know what I saw on the wall. So stars aligned finally for once.

Nice score!

Just spoke with Joe. He said my vb should be done by the end of the month, with the TJ 6 taking 6 more weeks. He said he was waiting on pickups for everything.

I cant wait...I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as he gets them to me.

If I get my basses and pics of the basses when Joe said he'd send them, it will have been about one month shy of a year since I ordered the basses. Crazy how time flies. I can also see how the delayed shop gets behind. No matter. I'm stoked.
