  • Bartolini or Aguilar Preamp... not sure yet.
  • Single volume knob on deck with 3-way pickup selector. These will be the only controls on the bass. Pickup balance, preamp gain, and 3-band active EQ controls will all be accessed using mini-pots through small holes drilled in the control cavity cover. I'm not a knob tweaker, so this setup is perfect for me.

What is the best way to keep the fingerboard cleaned and in great condition from any problems, I've asked Joe Zon about WD-40 and he told me that yes you can use it but not very often and do not get it on any other part of the instrument except the fingerboard because it would cause damage to the finish.

Yeah, what Angus said.

If you prefer WD40, just don't spray the WD40 directly on the fingerboard.

If you hold a clean, lint-free rag close to the spray nozzle on WD40 away from the bass (to avoid splash back) and just softly and quickly spray into the rag (to avoid over saturation), it definitely works great for quickly cleaning any grime and build-up and you don't have to worry about getting any residue on the finish.

I use it occasionally, but it's definitely not necessary for an "every time" cleaner.
