Zon's non-matching headstocks are probably the best looking ones to me (I always prefer matching), but man I wish I could get mine made to match. Probably not possible, but still...

Todd Johnson has a headless Tj6, which is basically a Sonus with a slightly enlarged body I think (is that right Angus?).

I'm jealous of it. I love headless basses like the Vinny I had, but the lower bout on the Vinny makes the upper fret access pretty bad. The deep cutaway on the TJ body style fixes that.

Yeah - cost. I had maxed out my budget already on that build, and "headless" was optional compared to the other things that I was getting.

Yup, a TJ is a Sonus body one string size up (5 string with 6 string-size body, etc).

There have probably been multiple Sonus headlesses at this point. I can't remember if I've seen others or if my mind is making it up, but there are definitely some ordered.

That's how he wanted it, I guess!

It does give more room for the cutaway without adapting the upper half of the body.
