Well I saw them for a few seconds and then they disappeared again ......... But what I saw for a second or two were absolutely beautiful!

Is that a myrtle burl top?
Guanacoste top with wenge tone plate and mahogany body. It is the exact same bass that todd johnson has with the exception of the spacing, which is 18mm instead of 16mm.

Sure that isn't a myrtle top? Looking bangin'! Should be killer. Dying to know how it is, since I've been thinking about ordering one of these for a long long time.

DUDE!!! I messed up!!! You're right It's a Guanacoste body and Myrtle top!! I just consulted the order. I hope yours is delivered soon as well.

Some you guys will probably get a kick out this ......
The only thing that kind of messed with my head on my Zon TJ5 fretless was the fact that it had side dots between the half-lines. I thought that it was a bit odd having them between the proper position markers. Some times when placing my hands in various positions (to play) I'd see the side dot in the corner of my eye and my left hand would instinctively go down in line where the side dot was and I'd have to slide up or down to be in pitch. Plus I thought that it was odd that some of the side dots looked a bit deformed (not really round and the same diameter).
Well it turned out while I was cleaning the bass this morning and rubbing the cloth on the side of the finger board, I rubbed off some of those side dots! lol
Apparently someone drew them on with some type of white grease pencil.
I may have to gets some rub on side sots for the 12th fret (at least for a while) but overall everything looks a bit more in sync to me now ....... what a dummy! (yeah, me).
Joe, this is actually the usual place for side dots on lined and half lined fretlesses. It follows the placement of side dots on fretted instruments, and is always a mistake IMO as they give no useful reference point whatsoever. I've had to custom order my lined fretlesses to have the dots placed directly below the lines so they would be in the same location as they would be on an unlined fretless. In the case of my lined fretless TJ5 that I bought used, I sent the bass to the Zon shop and they refinished the neck to cover the old dots and installed new glow in the dark dots at the proper point of intonation. It looks like this now:

Yeah, I guess the individual that had mine built chose to just go without the side dots. I might just add some rub on dots at the 12th but I'm actually adjusting OK without them.
But, I really like fact that your side dots glow in the dark too. That's a great idea for dark stages.
I might have to contact Zon and see what the charge would be to add those to mine.

Hey zon friends. I recently acquired a 1998 Sonus V which I love to death. It has the Bart three band pre with mid selector. I have to admit the only thing I don't like about this bass is the preamp. I have never liked this preamp, which I had in a Modulus and then in a Lakland USA. The high end is very boring, uninspired, and seems compressed. I am curious if people here have had good luck with various other pre-amps. I love Sadowsky pre-amps which I have in my jazz bass, and LOVE the high end I get, both fingerstyle and slap, with that bass. I am also curious if anyone has put an Aguilar OBP-3 or similar and found it to be an improvement. Any feedback would be appreciated.
