^ Congratulations! Looking forward to the pics!

I've been looking for a really nice used 34" scale Zon Sonus. They're certainly hard to find. I'm thinking that I really need my main fretted bass to be 34" scale to help me complete the transition to my 34" scale Zon TJ5 fretless. I've got a nice 34" scale Ibanez 5 that I'm going to play while I continue to search. I'll see if my pitch improves any using it . :unsure:

I am only playing 34" scale five strings from now on (fretted). The 34" scale is just more natural feeling to me than 35" or multi scale.

The TJs are really nice! Very cool bass!
Actually anything Joe Zon makes is really nice! ;)

I think once you start playing a graphite neck Zon, to me anyways, most wood necks just don't feel as good, at least for a bolt on neck.

Years ago I had a Zon Legacy with a set neck. Those are really cool too, but have a smoother tone to my ears.

Is the TJ a Bolt On or set neck?

IIRC, that's a Sonus body with the "Custom" (soapbar) pickups in the "Special" position.
My bass has that configuration, but the body has the deep cutaway and the fingerboard extends down to the pickup, so it's not a great example.
I don't have a pic of a "typical" Custom Special.

NBD is finally here folks! :woot::bassist::hyper:

I believe that I have the very first ever Zon Sonus Custom Special Headless 5! Woooo! This bass is absolutely INCREDIBLE!

PERFECTION is the only way I can describe it! This bass weighs 8 pounds even, and has no neck dive at all!

The tone is simply awesome with the 2 pickups centered, and of course there is a 3 band EQ to adjust with.

The bass plays itself, REALLY, just a dream to play!

My advice to anyone considering a ZON, just talk to Joe and get your specs right, and order the damn thing already! You will NEVER regret it!

A huge thanks to Joe and his crew! Awesome guy, awesome bass, I'm so happy I could cry! :laugh::roflmao::D

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and get a ZON! I can't wait for my next one! :smug::cool::thumbsup:

And I get to play this for the first time on Easter Sunday! ;)
