Oh my my.... oh hell yes...... I got me a Zon Fret...less!

FINALLY!!!!! After a great trade from a wonderful TB'r I finally have scored a Zon fretless. I have had one Zon in my life and it was a very lightweight burpy four string but I have always wanted a Zon 5 string fretless..... Well low and behold I got a 2006 Sonus 5 Fretless. It came with black nylon strings.... not really my thing... and I have had gigs and family stuff since I got it this weekend so last night after work I was able to put a set of Dunlop Super Bright Nickel light gauge strangs on it.... and I could barely put it down and go to bed. I am so thrilled. Looking forward to playing this beauty on a few projects this fall. So glad to finally be part of the crew....

I like mine a lot!
Hello,

How are the Legacy Standard 5’s?

Thanks

Well, I just recently picked up a brand new Zon Legacy Standard 5, and I have to say it is the very best import bass that I have EVER owned or played!!!

Frets are excellent (not one buzzing fret), really solid feel and not too heavy, mine weighs 9 pounds even, and the new Aguilar DCB pickups sound outstanding!

Highly recommended!!!

How would you describe the tone? The one I’m looking at has the Duncan pickups.

Thanks

Shaun

Is the neck on these 3 piece maple?

If you love your Wal, my suggestion - there's no hurry. No babies will die if you don't buy a Zon this week. Make time to get to where you can play one. You're talking two big decisions - selling a Wal and buying a Zon.
Or just do what I did - Never played a Zon in my life & ordered a Sonus V via mail order. Then also got a Sonus Special 4 string :)

I will be making a trip to the new Zon factory later this month to pick up my new Legacy Elite 4 (BEAD)!

Specs include gloss black finish over Poplar body, switchable dual/single pickups, and Luminlay inlays!

Very excited and hopefully I will get some good pics to post on here! :bassist:

Has anyone received a new Zon recently?
If so can you please post some pics!

Sounds like a sweet build, can't wait for your pics. My headless Sonus 519 has big bartolini soaps that are switchable dual/single and I love 'em: so versatile.

Mine's matte black. Got it back in March and I've posted pics, but I'd love to see other builds.

OK, one more:
