Here's my old solid ash bodied Sonus 5. Had the real singles and the glossy phenolic board.
Both pickups on but I preferred to solo the back. This was what the track required though. Way more mwah on the back pickup.

Thanks Bucephylus. There are a few other tracks on that album with the bass. More or less mwah depending
I have now been waiting 30 months for a ZON with standard specs that was ordered for a trip to Europe in 2013. At the time I placed the order, Martin Peters saw no reason why they would not be able to deliver in 7-8 months since there were no non-standard requirements. And yes there has been communication with Joe.

There has to be a reason. I mean, I don't think those guys like to sit on basses and make people wait, just for fun.

There is no reason for the delay other than they have been very busy building other basses. When I contact the shop I usually get an email from Joe within a couple of days. They purchased the wood for the bass shortly after I placed the order. The Bart pickups and all the parts are standard. It is a fretless 4 string, nothing exotic.
Are you seriously joking, 30 months you have been waiting for your Zon, OH MY GOD I hope that doesn't happen with me, I placed my order for a Zon Legacy Elite 6 string about maybe 2 months ago roughly, please tell me Addison that I'm not going to wait 30 months or longer.
I put down my deposit for my Legacy Elite 519 almost two years ago (April 2012). Embrace the wait!
In all fairness the bass was "finished" just before Christmas but they discovered a problem with a pickup. Waiting on a replacement from Bartolini... I guess?
Seriously this makes me really upset and bummed out at the same time, if I was told I would be waiting 2 years I wouldn't have put a deposit down I would have ordered something else, I was told the wait times most was about 7 months out max.
I love my 5/1 but that is too long to wait for any bass. Zon should either hire more help or refund the deposit.

My TJ6 was well worth the wait. I had mine in about 18 months. I play it every day.
Must be a snafu somewhere.
I ordered a one off 519. I wasn't given a completion timeline, but I'm not worried.
Joe came through on everything last time and surpassed my expectations.

I'm always amazed by how quickly a single post can completely change the mood in a thread...
Anyway, I'm not exactly in a position to be an official spokesperson for the company... I only try to help you guys whenever I can, because I would hope someone would do the same for me. Although I've been there several times, I don't work at the shop... in fact, I'm not even an official employee of any kind. I'm not even in the same state. I simply believe in the product and I believe in the people and their vision and try to help them in any way possible. They're some of the best guys I have ever met in the music business... really, truly amazing and inspiring people.
With that said, every situation is different... some people wait longer than others and there are lots of reasons why... it's like that with any small boutique builder... but I can tell you for a fact that the wait is never "just because."
If you want details on your build, send them an email or call the shop to get a status... be patient... someone will get back to you. If not, I'll try to help. Perfection takes time... and just because a few people have waited as long as they have, doesn't mean you will.

They are some of the hardest working guys I know and they labor over the details. That's what make them my bass of choice.
My apologies for putting a damper on things. I will report back when the bass arrives or when we get to 36 months, whichever comes first.

Hoping you get a quick resolution and the bass is everything you wanted it to be.
Seriously this seems ridiculous as much time you have been waiting, what exactly is going on with your order?
Is it like a custom option order or something, what has ZON been telling you as far as the delays in your order.
The whole big picture here doesn't seem right at all if you ask me.
