Would you guys help me to identify the model of this Sonus please ?

The owner tells it's a Sonus Special, but I see no bubinga top, unless the specials used to have a solid ash body.
Thanks everyone, I'm waiting for my first Zon which should knock on my door tomorrow morning :)

Is the pickups placing on the Sonus Standard page on Zon site
http://www.zonguitars.com/zonguitars/sonus5.html
a custom one maybe ?

No, just a bad picture correlation. The picture on the website is an actual Sonus Special. Nothing custom at all.

Your bass is a Sonus Standard in the normal, expected configuration (minus aforementioned bridge swap).

The bass shown on the website is a normal Sonus Special.

Neither bass have any custom features or unusual build as shown.

I hope that helps!

It's a Sonus Standard.

A Special has a bubinga top and bridge/mid position pickups.

+1. Generally though, since Zon does so much custom work, I'd use the pickup location to identify the general "model" of the bass. It's probably possible to get a Special without the bubinga top.

Standard - Jazz pickups, jazz location (neck+bridge)
Special - Jazz pickups, mid+bridge location
Custom - Soapbars, standard location

At least that's my understanding.
